Further to Paul d102's post last September, Oxford City Council approved the plans for demolition of this pub about three months ago and it has been closed for a while. I cannot comment on Bertrand's review as I have not been in there for about 30 years and there are unlikely to be any further reviews barring any remarkable change of plans.

According to the Oxford Mail: "Linea OX1 Ltd has proposed knocking down The Adventurer – formerly The Honey Pot – in Hollybush Row, so it can build seven flats, two of which would be two-bed and the rest one-bed".
|
Now rechristened as The Adventurer and probably more of a bar than a pub. Quite decent but only Deuchars on tap on the ale front - we ended up with Brooklyn Lager which it was good to see on tap. As in its incarnation as the Honey Pot, better than most pubs near stations. That said, £7.50 for a pint and a half isn't going to encourage custom.

Has gone downhill over the last couple of years and seems to have been passed from owner to owner to the point that it's lost its character and is now just a room serving standard drinks near a train station.
The beers on last night were Old Hooky and Doom Bar. I went for the former, which was just fine but nothing special at all and we left after one.

Has had its ups and downs but really about as good as it gets so near to the station in Oxford. One evening in April 2012, it seemed remarkably chilled - the blinds across the windows helping to bathe the premises in a comforting golden light. There is always at least one good ale on and the grub is superior of the pub kind. The music selection was also well chosen and the barman affable. For a lightweight like me, the Cotswold ales on sale across the road at the Jam factory can be a little fearsome in strength so the mellower surrounds of the Honey Pot lead to a more relaxed evening

Rubbish. Pub was completely empty in the middle of lunchtime. The one barmen was using the actual bar to do some paperwork. place looks tatty.
|
Easily the best pub in the station area. Friendly staff, decent beer (often Ringwood and usually Landlord) and very tasty pub grub, including a fixed price lunch deal. Also a happy hour from 5-7 with cheaper pints. I have had many a nice lunchtime or after work pint in here. If you fancy a pub that is modern without being pretentious then there are far worse ways to pass a summer evening than drinking in their beer garden.

Not the most comfortable pub around, but it has a charm about it. Definitely worth stopping off if you're passing through Oxford Station. The food is a bit pricey but I've heard good things. Conservative selection of beers.

Busy when I visited yesterday about 1900 with a, mainly, youngish clientele. Taylors Landlord, Brakespears Oxford Gold and something from Hobgoblin available. Ale served far too cold for my liking but, when it was allowed to warm up, the Landlord was fine.

This 'bar' just gets it right. So few places do. By a million miles the best place near the station. Civilised clientele of all ages and friendly staff. Work groups, courting couples, solitary drinkers waiting for a train all welcome. Excellent.

More bar than pub, but for what it is, it's very good. Trendy interior that manages to be cosy, late opening hours (shut on Sundays though), one real ale (Landlord). The back room has a fireplace, which I've seen lit on occasion. On Saturdays, a DJ is often to be found here, playing unobtrusive lounge-type muzak. Fills a niche very nicely.

quaint lovely pub, hidden away from the centre of town but close to the train station and ice rink. good range of drinks.
|
The honey pot is a great little pub, that's fortunately not frequented by mongs.
San Miguel, Becks Vier and Kronenberg on draft.
Excellent Timothy Taylor's Landlord always on, and it has a good turnover so is a great quality pint.
Good food - fantastic 'Build your own burgers', great specials and all for a decent price too (except the beers, which are a bit pricey - poxy breweries, poxy taxes..).

nice place to meet up to start a saturday night - low lounges, nice staff, great cocktails, dj. sometimes so nice we're still there when it closes!
|
Decent 2 room pub. Greene King I.P.A was available. Very "studenty" but near the station if you fancy a quick pint. Limited menu. Found 20 note on the floor once so I may be biased
|
A tiny bit pricey but worth it. Easily the most interesting bar in this part of town.
|
great bar. Good music, and very chilled mediterranean style garden. Nice crowd, but quite strict on drinking up. Well worth a visit for a chilled sociable drink. Probaly avoid if you're on a 'big one'
|
don't know why this place has such a low score?? ended up there saturday night and found awesome music, wicked upbeat jazz and funk and stuff, a cool twnty something crowd and some half decent drinks. bit of a secret find!
|
This place is great. bit out of the way but worth finding. kind of bar like and pub like at the same time. really good chilled out music, great lunchtime food and some lovely cocktails!

small, friendly, kind of bar like and pub like at the same time. Laid back and relaxed atmosphere with good music and lovely cocktails- try the mojito or the mudslide!
Great lunchtime food menu - brilliant burgers especially.

I come here a lot with my friends, as it is a really nice pub. It has a friendly atmosphere and there is usually a place to sit. In the summer there is a nice garden. Due to its location it can be a bit dead. Though it often seems to be busier mid week.

Great relaxing bar.

Great draft beers - Kronenberg, Budvar, GK IPA etc.
Exposed brickwork and polished plaster type place - comfy and relaxed.
Chilled out music from Kruder and Dorfmesiter thru Morcheeba.
It's all good.
