Great little street corner pub, though not actually on a street corner at present (though with this highway authority nothing is impossible). Usually 3 or 4 beers on tap, kept in good nick too, all from Marstons/Brakspear/Ringwood etc. Well worth a visit.

Regretfully, though deservedly, Dick and Judith will be retiring this summer after 12 years of laughs and largesse at the Bricks. I salute you folks, and will hopefully catch up to help see you off in the time-honoured manner when the time comes.

Now, sadly, the home of Mia and Alan.

Welcoming and friendly locals' boozer with excellent ales and a real cider. An unpretentious traditional community pub, just as it should be. Brakspear Bitter was top notch.

Just doing a little local round-up of pubs that have secured a berth in the 2013 CamRA Good Beer Guide - not the be all and end all by any stretch, but a reasonable indication that all is fairing well at least beer-wise - and noting this on their BITE entry. Happily, the work's paid off and suree enough, the Jolly Bricks has cracked it; one of four pubs in town to do so this year.

Good work Dick - your persistence and determination in the ale department has done you proud - keep it up. (Oh and you can stop buying that Colin W drinks now!!).

Great place and worthy of its high score. Pool, bar billiards, darts and table football to keep one amused and entertained. Four real ales plus outside seating area with TV. No kitchen so take away menus provided which you can order to the pub and they'll provide crockery and cutlery. Friendly punters and very welcoming landlord and landlady. Free snacks if you stay for a while, clean toilets and runs its own occasional beer festivals. It's just a shame about the long walk to get there. Clear 8/10 in my opinion

Perfectly described by ScotchMissed - basic but less intimidating than some of the South London/Surrey pubs I've been in, with a good welcome. Brakspear was well above average, and at 3.10 well-priced for 2012.

Good, honest local pub, yet still very welcoming to strangers (like us). Only three ales (Brakspear bitter, Ringwood 49er plus the monthly Brakspear guest ale), but very well kept and served by a very knowledgeable barman. Would go in here more regularly if I lived nearby.

A bit basic inside, but any pub that still has bar billiards is fine by me.

Came in on Saturday afternoon as part of the East & Mid Surrey Ale Trail. Friendly local, three beers Brakspear Bitter and Buzz and Ringwood 49er. Basic, unpretentious and the sort of place I would use regularly if I lived nearby.

A friendly pub, usually with three real ales on - mostly Brakspears, but with others from the wider Marston's range from time to time - a rarity round Reigate/Redhill area.

Running a bit of a beer festival with a forecast of 11 real ales from Thursday 5 to Sunday 8 May.

After frequenting many of the pubs in the merstham/redhill area, I was pleasantly surprised to discover how friendly and laid back this public house is. The landlady and her husband are extremely welcoming; there is pool, billiards and darts, and there is also a jukebox. The beer is very good, especially the Guinness, and there is a good variety of ales.
Some nights in there are busy while at other times it gets so quiet that several of the regulars drift off gazing into their beers.

Having only re-visited very occasionally since my first visit as a decidedly under-age quaffer in the early '90s, in the last few years I think this place has enjoyed a subtle and desirable shift in direction. Whilst the Jolly Bricks remains a steadfast working-class Redhillian local, which indeed it should, as it is a community pub in a residential area, and it is to those residents it should be pitching, the current licensee appreciates that this should not been the pub needs to attract the rougher edge of the town's clientele, and that there is a gap in the market in north Redhill for an earthy, simple, yet quality and civilised boozer.
The JB does not pander to the yobs, and there is more to it than predicatable lager fonts and a pool table. A range of 3 cask ales are now featured, and Dick (said licensee) reliably informed me when I popped in for a recent beer festival he was holding, that they sell very nicely, despite my doubts that the regulars would buy in. Real ale is plainly a labour of love for this chap, who has gradually built up an interest since taking over in 2002, but alas being a Brakspear pubco outlet, and thereby tied to the Marston's beer list, his hands are somewhat tied and he is not able to lay on the breadth of beer he'd like to. Nevertheless, he had done well for his fest: the full range of Marston's (which lest we forget now takes in Jennings and Ringwood), plus 4 offerings from 2 local brewers which he'd persuaded them to allow (Dorking and Pilgrim). If only there were a little more flexibility, who knows? This pub could become one of the gems in the local cask ale crown.

Still, as it is, it does well. Besides beer, there is a welcoming feel in the 2-bar layout (a rarity in these parts in itself), which retains much of its Victorian character. Basic but hearty grub is laid on, and service on my few visits of late has been excellent - well done ladies!

Slightly off my patch normally, but I do feel I should support this place more. Perhaps some of you might too.

I called into this pub on Saturday morning and was very impressed, a good pub selling good beer and a friendly barmaid made my visit very enjoyable.

Top marks.

Great place! A must if you want to hear the latest 'Girl Band' in the area. 'The Briquettes'. A fantastic group who get the whole pub involved. 3 extremely pretty girls who certainly know how to strut their stuff.
A place full of surprises from 'Murph' to Vicars, this pub has it all.

What a "jolly" pleasant pub. Friendly owners and clientele. The real beers are Everards Tiger and Wells Bombardier, both well kept. Pool AND bar billiards. Food at lunchtime was limited to a few rolls and burgers. The otherwise pleasant and flowery patio is marred by the noise from an extractor fan. Elsewhere this may not rate so highly but this is easily the best pub I've found in Redhill.
