One of the better pubs in Newquay which at times can be a pretty awful place to have a pint.
Fantastic views and very large and surprisingly cosy inside.
Good selection of ales too.
8/10

Still our favourite Newquay pub. Friendly bar staff good beer and dog friendly. What's not to like. Sad to see the pool table has gone.

Large pub with one central bar with seating scattered around.
One of the best pubs in town as well run and managed with a good selection of real ales and lagers. Often has live music, particularly at the weekends.
As good as it gets in Newquay.

Had a seat in the window with stunning views. Beer selection was excellent with the Betty Stogs in good form. Service was good and with beer around the £2.80/2.90 mark this was a very good pub to visit.

I've always enjoyed a pint here but last visit in late October 2013 they were offering 20% off the real ales for CAMRA members, I took full advantage of the offer, good ale selection as well.

Somewhat more of an adults only pub than The Fort.
It was a bit too busy to stay when we called, but had at least three real ales on, and they were turning over well.
There was a group setting up for the evenings entertainment, so that side of things is still going too.

food was ok nothing amazing but the atmosphere and music was brilliant i really like it here

Very pleasant for a quick couple of pints late Saturday afternoon (Jan 15th). Good atmosphere (I agree entirely with jamietravel on this), great views across the bay (and of the surfers), friendly and quick service - and the beer was good. Of the four (I think) real ales on, Doom Bar and Cornish Knocker were both in top condition and served beautifully. Would like to know why this pub isn't in the GBG.

cracking, absolute corker of a pub. nice to go to a pub mostly full of locals. newquay seems to have turned into a stag party haven. this place luckily isnt overrun by these rowdy types. didnt have the food ut atmosphere was great, bar stuff wonderful, and a beer fest on at the time, beers costinga round 2 quid each. perfect little get away with live music on the nights we were there.

The best Pub that I visited in Newquay. Like most of the Free houses though, totally dominated by Skinners ales; there was a skinners fest when I was there. I have no problem with this but if you don't happen to enjoy Skinners....
Beer was well kept and food was also good value. Service friendly.

Beer and food ok but nothing special. Location probably ensures decent tourist trade, though.

ok. not worth the walk from central Newquay.

used to love this pub but have been in frequently over the winter on sunday afternoon and pub is absolutely freezing. went in this sunday, no heating on was informed it was broken, log fire supposed to be lit but bar staff let it go out and customers not allowed to touch it. tables covered in plates and glasses even though there were only a dozen customers in the place. such a shame to see a good pub go down hill. I would certianly not want to eat as you have to sit in your coat to keep warm Find staff lazy and indifferent

We always vist this pub on our many trips to the area, great real ale and some nice ciders on offer, always easy to get served even when busy and nice views of harbour from window seats during the day. Mostly locals in here which is always a good sign except for one or two tanked up tourists in peak season highly recommend this pub, enjoy the food also.

I generally liked this pub, and the one time I ate there the food was not at all bad. However, it was very difficult at times to get served (especially if one is female) and once when I had been ignored blatantly for a time I just gave up and asked my male companion to try. Hope this was a one-off.

Really disappointing. Waiting an hour for some exceedingly average food on Monday. Seemed to be ovencooked scampi and manky looking chicken with a bit of cheese melted on it. How it took an hour I'll never know. Staff were completely out of their depth and didn't keep any of the many tables up to date with the kitchen debacle. Very rude when I complained and asked for money off. One to avoid when there are other good pubs nearby.

Dogs welcome, lovely veiws over the harbour, excellant beer prices, food not cheap but very nice.
|
Another of many quality pubs in Newquay, all serving local cornish ales. Dinner was good.
