please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Re-opened as The Crock of Gold. Same layout and Irish bar vibe as the laurels however, it seems to be pulling in more punters than before.

Gets very busy when there is a big football game on and seems to have taken some business away from Sweeneys up the road as that has been fairly empty the last couple of times I have been in whereas the crock has been heaving.

This pub looks small from the outside but does go back a fair way. Plenty of TV,s on both sides on the room and a big screen at the back so can usually get a decent seat for the game even when busy.

It is definitely a sports bar and because it is Irish it will not offer much to the discerning real ale drinker. I am pretty sure they don't do food either but forgive me if I'm wrong. Because of these factors at least the pub doesn't attract droves of bloated old farts which means there is more room to sit down and get to the bar.

They have San Miguel on tap which even though I am more of an ale drinker, I do find San Mig to be the nicer of the mass produced lagers so this is always my drink of choice here. Glad to see a local pub doing well and long may it last!

What a Great Pub!!!Now called the Laurels and what such a friendly crowd and bar staff. The motown band Mixed Company play done there every month and really know how to make the place party, everyone up and dancing all night long. Check them out, the female lead singer always goes out and gets people to join in with songs like mustang sally!!

Went last night, fast service, pity about the songs on the stereo, "Stick your decommissioning up your arse" and The IRA will always be around", not the place for service personnel, I would imagine, drank my pint incredibly quickly and left. At least no-one passed the hat around.

not a bad Irish bar, its a bigger version of Currans in Hayes. Its a bit bland inside but has quite a friendly atmosphere, reckon band nights there could be really lively

I like the bar staff, especially the blonde! Seriously, very nice little bar - just what this area needed. Last bar here was ok, just too plain.

Great little venue - I am in the aforementioned Donut and our gig there was well received - everyone in good mood after watching Czechs beat Holland and even the old gents got up to dance. Highly recommend, its the nicest place we have played!
