Went in there recently. The bar staff were friendly enough. Loud, ignorant punters doing lot's of shouting and swearing. Stupidly I opted for the only real ale on offer, Doombar which even when kept well has a sour aftertaste, but this was more like drinking vinegar from a pint glass. I downed the whole pint somehow. After I was convinced I wasn't going to be sick I left this dump of a place and headed for the Weatherspoons to get a pint of Kronenburg to mask the taste. It won't be long hopefully before this sh**hole is turned into flats.

is this pub still full of cocaine heads?
|
After the previous management "did a runner" the pub has reverted back to Chav's City
|
A couple of years ago, this place was a dive, and had a reputation for trouble. Think it's harsh to still describe it as such. Its been under new management for a good few months now (or a year?). The barstaff seem friendly enough and it has an almost locals feel about it. Can be quite quiet during the week, but that isnt necessarily a bad thing. Traditional pub, with good quality Kronenbourg at just 2.50 per pint. Best pub in Wallington.
They can have entertainment on, and have a back room for bands. Also must be one of the few pubs who celebrated St George's Day in style (only went in for a couple of pints but then stayed for many hours). They deserve extra points for that.

Review below is pretty accurate, but remove 'Although' and delete all text after dive.

Although its a bit of a local dive, and does take a couple of visits to warm up, its a pretty decent affair once you get going.
Friendly and decent staff who do work fast, and the pub has a variety of theme nights, kareoke and bands playing, which add a nice touch.

Well dodgy pub, far too many chavs

only been in twice, first was day time, didn't think much of the place, was quite apart from a bloke who kept complaining: warm beer - mine was freezing, too smokey....He didnt stop. Then went in the evening for a England game - What a Atmosphere, absolutly brilliant. The pub looked the bollocks - Flags, Horns.... Staff made a real effort.

Just to make clear, I am looking at the pub I added. I did mean pool table added, not pool. Sorry to anybody who went expecting a pool.

Visited to meet with some other people. When I went in, even the dogs look at you! Once they all realized I was with some regulars, okay, but still an unnerving experience. Beer okey, but not wonderful.

...unless you have a function to put on in their room. Pretty good value I hear.

English pride? Read dodgy inbreds, avoid!

Aside from the first instance thru the door, where every one stops and stares and the musics gone off and everything, its a pretty friendly place. One hell of a lot better than the Weatherspoons down the hill. Still weird though

This place is my local and i agree it is well dodgy if you are not a regular. A great sense of English pride in this old fashioned public house

This place is well dodgy! Strictly regulars only. If you show up at this boozer you'll be as welcome as a french kiss at a family reunion.

A small-ish pub in Wallington, Surrey with a U shaped bar. The function room has just been redone and a pool added.
