The Victoria was the better of Oxshott's two pubs. Although, it now refers to itself as a "bar and brasserie", very much designed to target a specific sub-section of society. It was quieter than the Bear just down the road. But, the ale range was marginally better - Sharp's Doom Bar & Atlantic, Timothy Taylor Landlord & Andwell King John. Not cheap. But, I think it was par for the course for this area.

Aspalls cider, but kegged. £4.30/pt! Friendly dogs and locals in the bar. Comfy ambience.

This is a traditional local village pub still keeping a separate public bar and saloon bar which I don't think I've seen in years. There is a separate Thai restuarant leading off the saloon bar which seems to be run as a independent concern. I had a good pint of Abbott ale and my wife and I tried the Thai food on the menu which was excellent. More expensive than other pubs for a lunch - the two mains, two desserts and two drinks came to £31 but it was a very pleasant visit.

A traditional pub in the centre of Oxshott. It has limited parking but some outside seating. The small lounge leads to a larger room to the left. The bar had 4 real ales but the choice wasn't very adventurous and expensive at £3.86 a pint. Too expensive for my tastes.

This place probably has the most expensive ale in the UK. 3.76 for a pint of London Pride! It's a nice pub but I don't see how they can justify the prices.

How this place gets a higher rating than the Bear is beyond me. The building itself is pleasantly antique, but the clientele appear to be mostly millionaire builders or similar. Was a bit surprised to find such a rough-and-ready place in Oxshott. Unfortunately the pleasantly old interior doesn't quite make up for the shouty types watching football.

Thai food simple and good - definitely not overpriced.

popped in after a visit to The Bear down the road - good beer, friendly welcome and lots of punters, mixed crowd, simply a vice nice pub

Dec 2008 Review: A mate and I popped in Saturday lunchtime in the hope of some Thai food and a pint and that's just what we got. A clean and well maintained pub with all the brasses polished. A real log fire and a warm welcome. Barmaid with a nice smile and a good sense of humour. Scrumpy Jack which is a good cider for most pubs and a couple of good ales too. Restaurant area, pub / restaurant with fire, low-beamed traditional pub area and separate bar with facilities for showing sports but not over-the-top by any means. A nice balance and something for all tastes. Thai meal was excellent but like most Thai meals, not completely filling on one course for the Western diet!
Worth a visit, would recommend and visit again

Great pub in almost every respect. Let down by one factor only. It is ridiculously overpriced. (Drinks and food) Definately the place to be for a session at the weekend but come with a fat wallet!

Didn't think you got chavs in Oxshott. Is Roger the Lodger still the landlord!!

For once a proper pub good food pleasant asmosphere great landlord and attentive staff. Quiet a change!

Popular High Street local, with a wonderfuuly old-fashioned Saloon Bar-Public Bar system.
Clean, tidy and friendly, just what you'd expect a pub like this to be.
I was in the Saloon, and didn't see any chavs, another bonus. Were they all in the Public bar? And if so, is this what pubs were like in the Fifties?

Excellent pub - what pubs should be, good atmosphere true character. The Thai restaurant is not only one of the most established and best in Surrey, the staff are lovely and the cleanest kitchen i've ever seen. Few celebs around, but not at all pretentious.

A traditional and always friendly pub with real atmosphere. The open fire in the winter time is a real treat! The Thai food is a gastronomical delight, reasonably priced and served with graceful smiles. Both pub aspects 9/10

Have seen Jimmy White in there. Nice family pub. Food is great. Gets very busy and can be a little cliquey. Good local though.

The thai, (someone called it a restaurant) is possibly the worse excuse for a thai restaurant I have ever experienced, the cleaners should be sacked also! Rating 1/10

I heard Jimmy White drinks at the Albert Arms in Esher after practicing at Sandown.
