Fantastic pub. Clean, stylish, friendly and good food. Brilliant beer garden..so big. The food is very reasonably priced with a good, interesting choice. Keep up the excellent work.

The Fishermans Joy has now opened following the fire and is a great place to spend some time! The food is great value and quality and the place feels really welcoming. Don't take my word for it, if your going to Selsey this year you have to see for yourself, try the burgers.... they are lovely!!!

Still Closed - September 2011

It's a shame to read about (and see videos of) the fire. I can remember drinking Ballard's Wassail on a number of occasions in here a few years ago.
Hope to see the pub up and running again very soon.

Due to open in the Summer due to a fire that has wrecked the pub.

Ok, it was early Sunday evening at the tail end of the tourist season, but the pub had a rather tired feel about it. Fullers 'Wags to Witches' was on tap, though - good effort there. There are nicer pubs in Selsey for visitors.

Having spent the weekend in Selsey we found a pub called the Fishermans Joy we were very impressed with the food, the Ale, the friendlyness of staff, definately a pub with lots of atmosphere and superb relaxing gardens.

Well, what a change! New owners have really done well. There is a new kitchen and restraunt. Food is prepared and cooked by manager Karl. Fabulous! Best in Selsey! Decorated and refurbished throughout. Children welcome till 7pm. New garden. Live music every fortnight. Must see it to believe it!!!
|
A terrible place! Grubby, smoky, with miserable looking staff, bad beer (stick to the bottles if you must go in) and a few local families - complete with children :o( Do yourself a favour; go down to The Lifeboat or up to The Neptune or Seal. Remember to wipe your feet on the way out!
