The Hollybush is the main pub on the high street. On Saturday nights it gets busy with twenty somethings so expect bouncers on the door.
Primarily stocks McMullen beers which I am not a massive fan of. I’ve never eaten in there but the food looks fine.
Not a bad place to watch the football on a Saturday afternoon.

Prices seem to be going up here - 4.45 for a pint of Peroni. They must be trying to 'compete' with the Nu Bar. Mercy please!

I think the staff here are those who've failed the Mcmullen training course and are working out their notice period. Nothing else could explain the sheer indifference and indolence of the staff, who seem to spend their time sitting at tables chatting to each other. If they were capable of reading they would probably think my comments are praise ! Shame, as it's an attractive building in a convenient location. It just needs good management.

This is a McMullen pub so they were serving up AK and Country Bitter which were Ok. In on a quite late afternoon so can only comment place was clean and presentable.

Overpriced, overcrowded and understaffed. Everytime I've visited for a couple of quiet drinks I've been hugely dissatified by this establishment. Unless you're looking to pull orange birds in the local nightclubs, just keep on walking past.

This is a McMullen pub so they were serving up AK and Country Bitter which were both on good form. I didnt spot any premium lagers, but there is a decent enough selection of standard draught available.
I thought that the staff were friendly enough and there was a good crowd in split between watching Sky Sports on the many plasma screens and eating the pub food. There is also a nice big paved beer garden out the back which was busy due to the lovely afternoon sun.
I would go back here for a drink again.

Sat out the back in the beer patio with a nice pint of McMullens(2.52pint only),very pleasant 7/10

Come hither for chav-tastic sensations! Decent beer, nice barmaids and lots of wannabe clubbers. The good thing is after 12am, everyone goes to Nu-bar or Minx and the pub is quite acceptable.

Now people, Here we have a fine example of Essex breed of drinkers. If your not wearing the required Burtons clothes and coat then best to find entertainment elsewhere. Pub is clean, Late 1am closing time at weekends, plenty of music and young drunk lasses. Service is good a friendly. Good place to see drunken breakdancing, Guinness Adverts on tv and latest Nokia mobile phones...

Great pub. Best for miles

Best pub on the high road if on Guinness is good, bar staff friendly, football a bit too loud. Clientle young. If you must drink on Loughton High Road, do it here.

This pub was not always the cest pit it is now. Under the old management the pub was cleaned up, served good meals and catered for O.A.P's, Business people, and ADULTS. Somewhere along the line they placed a tiny woman with a screechy voice in command and all went down hill. Now you can't have a drink at the weekend without feeling old... I am only 24. I have nostalgic feelings towards the bush and have spent some of the best evenings of my life in this pub. The ex manager sally now owns a little pub in Theydon, the bull, good luck to her, she works bl**dy hard!

Essex chavs that are borderline legal drinkers. Mummy can park the BMW X5 around the corner at home time/closing.
Girls say: "Whatever" Boys say: "yeah wot you lookin at"
Ohhh ... and the beer is nothing to write home about.

Stereotypical Essex boys/girls aged between 18-25 comparing ripped/distressed jeans, "budgie" hairdos and Von Dutch caps. Laughable if it wasnt so square. Having said that beer aint bad and you could do a lot worse in the area, probably cos there is nowhere else in the area. TV screens to watch the match are too small mind.

Nice easy going local pub which tends to attract a crowd between the ages of 21-30

This pub is not very nice at all. This is a pub that if youre not a regular, you are not welcome.
