rough pub, rough people, rough beer

Now it appears to be boarded-up so I assume it has closed forever?
|
I hear that it is shut - but it may just be for refurbishment or perhaps change of licensee? Anyone got more news?

The new owners that have taken over have brought the pub back to life! Brilliant pint and great service. They have set up regular live music nights, raffles, karaoke and free food since starting. It has turned into a great little local pub for families and singles alike.

Apparently now open again.

Now closed.

One of the better pubs on Oxford Road. No ale though. Inside looks like it came out of the Wetherspoons interior refurbishment catalogue.

Not a bad little spot, shame its got the same people in the same seats at the same time every day. Its starting to get a little dog-eared. Friendly enough, glasses are kept clean, nice guinness, red lemonade, and yes Magners. But why have two TV's on showing diferent channels and music playing at the same time? thats its most off-putting aspect. Gets crowded very quickly being so small. Shame it has no garden at the back.Gets very smokey.

This is a very nice pub!

Nice pub, looks a little scary from the outside, friendly inside though, well worth a visit.

BEST IRISH PUB IN READING SOD THE WISHING WELL, IRISH CLUB, THE BATTLE ECT... SO COME DOWN EVERY WEEKENG AND HAVE A GREAT LAUGH WITH THE LOCALS!!!
|
this pub is a mess its tiny and no craic. i would prefer a pub like The Claddagh Ring which is friendly and a good laugh.

If you miss the ordinary bars of Ireland (not the plastic leprechaun variety) then this is the place for you. They show all the Irish sport and have things like Nashs lemonade and Bulmers (called Magners over here as there is another Bulmers in England) cider !

Excellent little Irish pub, on the right not far after Reading West station if you're heading out of town. Shows all Celtic and Ireland games, whatever dodgy satellite or cable channel they are on.
