Very welcoming inn on the old road ( Brown Signed from A30). Excellent Sunday lunch at a very reasonable price. Local West Country ales were available.

I've got say one of my favourite pubs, Amanda and Richard make this place work really well. Richard is a chef by training and the food is by my measure some of the best in Cornwall. Beer is always excellent, the Otter is always excellent and is my normal choice when they have it. The wine again outstanding. It's only the location that keeps it quiet...One day the secret will be out.

Good food and friendly staff. Enjoyed my visit here. Will return.

Called in to this pub on our way to the Pheasant Beer Festival at St Newlyn East and was not disappointed. It is a while since we were here, and they were connected to the Doghouse brewery then. We had heard there had been changes though. We found they served a good Bays Gold on this visit, and we could get back there to try the food while we are in the area.

Another nice village pub, that seemed to be quite popular with diners. The menu for the forthcoming Portuguese night looked very tempting. St Austell St Piran's Ale and Bays Best were the two real ales. Stowford Press was the cider.

Friendly staff, excellent food and good value to boot. We had Beef & Ale pie which was delicious, ploughmans which had a good range of cheeses and ham with lovely fresh bread and a baked potato which was just as good. Finished off with the best hot chocolate fudge cake ever with clotted cream. Nice atmosphere and good specials board along with themed evenings. Just wish we lived a bit closer!

We just wish this pub was our local so that we didn't have to cross Cornwall to get to it. It is well worth the detour off the side of the A30 for any traveller who wants the best of pub experiences. The food is exceptional, cooked by someone who really cares - the pies aren't like anything we've encountered in any pub before. In fact, can't think of any restaurants that could come close. They certainly know how to keep their ale, and we've rarely felt so welcome I any pub. It's a gem

Still as good as ever, enjoyed a couple of pints of Betty Stoggs here last week and another superb meal yet again. Staff very friendly as are the locals who make you very welcome indeed.
Like a lot of pubs in the area they seem to be quite empty at the moment due to financial climate & end of tourist season which is a big shame because they deserve better. Does not help with the pub being off the main road either I guess. But well worth a visit and 20 seconds off the A30, one of Cornwall's finest by a long way!

Excellent beer, great food. Quiet, friendly pub. a nice place to relax after a hectic day on the beach.

Great pub with very friendly & quirky locals and in these days pretty much a rarity - A landlord with a personality!
Beer range is mainly the Doghouse range + a special brew called Zelah Mist brewed for by the pub by Skinners.
Menu is extensive and the food superb. Not to be missed and expect a very warm welcome too.
