I was pleasantly impressed by this Spoons. It's in a great location across the road from the castle, and the interior is light and airy - a refreshing change from the gloomy interior of most branches. Service was the usual letdown. Thwaites Wainwright, Conway Cwrw Gwledd Celebration Ale, Ruddles Best and Abbot Ale were the four real ales on offer. Weston's Old Rosie was available in the fridge. I would probably return if I ever pass through Carrick again.

Reaaly gone downhill in the last couple of weeks. Avoid for now at least

this is a ghastly pub with ghastly clientele and ghastly food - avoid it at all costs

Went last week to this pub with group of five friends, had a nice meal in pleasant surroundings, all for a very reasonable price. 4ales were available when we visited including Abbot and GK IPA. A real treat to find a nice location, good real ale, decent prices and some pleasant people working there. Well done to Weatherspoons for this pub.

I agree with the above comments, however the bar has improved no end in the last couple of months. The place seems to have really stepped up a gear and is now run well with ales available all the time, and even some cheery staff!!

A Really Nice Pub, In A Great Location, The Problem Is They Are Always Running out Of Real Ale, No Guest Ales Now For Almost Three Wks. And They Have Serious Staff Problems, On Wed. Night They had To Close The Upstairs Lounge As They Had Only Two Staff Members, Some Staff Off Sick, I Would Say The Problems Bad Management
