Pretty reasonable pub, reputably haunted although other pubs in Poole claim to be even more haunted. They do basic accommodation which is cheap and reasonable if you dont want anything fancy

The Crown has now a new landlord and landlady.

They have only one handpump (Ringwood) but the welcoming atmosphere more than makes up for this. One of the friendliest pubs in Poole.

Back street pub. worth a visit but nothing special
|
Now sells Marstons Burton Bitter which is a marked improvement on the Courage and Whitbread ales mentioned by Clive. Was quite busy when we were in (Sat 30th June) which was a surprise as the weather was atrocious but will be interested to see how busy it is now that the smoking ban has kicked in as virtually everyone in here is opposed to it.

One of the busiest pubs we visited on a winter's Tuesday night.

Used to be an Eldridge Pope house; sadly no longer, and only selling Courage & Whitbread. Pleasant enough, but very much a 'hotel' type bar; quiet & often closed.
