The primary cause of Leamington Spa's segregated social ecosystem is the yuppies. Leamington is sufficiently riddled with enough eateries and drinkeries to keep every nouveau riche family suitably stuffed. For this reason, I ask why, oh why, oh why, did the cumbersome prats of 'The Rose and Crown' in Warwick decide that Leamington Spa required another such a hell hole?
Stepping my foot in the door proved too much. The thoroughly gauche interior gave me an immediate migraine, accentuating the sterile and pompous atmosphere. The heads of the blonde, pucker lipped nimbies turned towards me in disgust, ushering their husband to quickly pay the bill. Children began to cry. I didn't want a free lunch anymore, I just wanted to go home

A proper spit and sawdust pub. A green king pub so you know what your going to get drink wise. But still has the atmosphere of a really good local pub where all are welcome. Worth it's 7 out of 10 rating but would complan if it was 8.

Used to be my favourite pub in Leamington but I feel it has lost its charm and friendliness. The beer is poor, mainly because it is a GK pub but the whole atmosphere has gone down hill. I will not rush back anymore.

Really nice pub with 4 ales on although 3 of them were the same old ones, Old Speckled, Abbot & GK IPA. My pint of choice was Olde hill, very well kept. I spent most of Friday night in here and the pub was very busy but the staff were excellent and the only sound was that of conversation. Didn't try the food but the all day breakfast looked good.

Great old wooden pub, real ales, food served although I have never tried it. I will be back

This is a proper pub with good beer, pub games, music, nooks and crannies and decent food. Sunday lunch is the best I have had in Leamington!

Been here twice. Friendly staff, good atmosphere, dartboard(!), decent selection of ales and tasty food make for a damn fine pub.
And even when our food order was lost on the second visit, they gave us a couple of free drinks as compensation. Now THAT is customer service.

Had a cracking New Year's Eve here. The staff were all in fancy dress and the place was absolutely heaving, but the level of service was exceptional - I swear I saw one barmaid floating she was that attentive. Still the No1 pub in Leam.

Very fine pub indeed. It has a lovely atmosphere that hits you as soon as you walk in. There's a lovely long bar so no crowding, many small & large wooden tables to sit around, a pool table & football table, a good jukebox (sometimes a little too loud) & a nice view out of the large, open windows. The food is pretty nice, the landlady is a stunner, the landlord is a good lad in his own quirky (grumpy) way. A pub doesn't get a great deal better then this. Catch the pub quiz on a Tuesday night, great fun & free food thrown in at half time.

Bestest Sunday Lunch in town!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lovely atmosphere, chilled, Sunday papers, nice music, horseradish... could you ask for more ????? Oh, a blow job apparently according to my current company!! Mind, you'd be a bit pushed after their roast beef & a bottle of red x

I like this place. charmed. leamington has some lovely pub just off the beaten track.

I revisited this pub over the weekend and it is still one of the best pubs in Leamington. It is a good stripped wood style spce with well kept beer. The one change I noticed is a greater range of food and lots of people eating it (around 8pm on a Saturday evening).

The best pub in Leamington, friendly staff, really nice mix of punters and a resident doggy - shame the price of lager is sooooo damned expensive!
|
Great pub... always open and serves a cracking pint!
|
yes well worth a visit to have a pint with the legend porno dave ive been in a mess with this guy many a time over the years if you can drink 6 pints an hour and still make it to rios you will know what i mean
|
Great beer, great food and then there's Porno Dave behind the bar, you know youll have a laugh!!
|
Wooden style pub, owned by Greene King brewery. Which is a good thing for me as I like their beers...was very quiet Saturday lunchtime, I suppose most of the shoppers are nearer town...but I had a nice pint of IPA and a decent lunch. The young lady serving drinks seemed friendly as she bounded around behind the bar.

Many moons ago one of the finest pubs in Leam for the weekend drink. Still treasured by older and greying local lads n lasses. Always busy at Xmas for ex-Leam returnees savouring their youthful memories...

live music can be very good
beers are well kept
toilets are a disgrace
|
Nice pub with a good atmosphere. Decent beer with good selection. Good to see a pub willing to put on live music for free!

A personal favourite from my days at Mid-Warks College, but never as busy as it once was - the larger choice in town has seen to that. Still, if you want a quietish pint with a decent jukebox, here's the place
|
Used to be one of the great pubs of leamington but has now unfortunately lost much of its character. The food cannot be recommended unless you have a taste for Tesco value cans.

this pub is not very good because they refused us to have a lunch time meal a coke and a nice game of pool because they said we are under the age of 18 this is wrong as greene king pubs are supposed to be family pubs we felt quite offended.

Large stripped wood style pub with Cask Marqued Abbot, Speckled Hen, Tiger and IPA in very good condition. Never completely packed except for Thursday evenings when there is (sadly!) live music. A good retreat from the town centre on Friday and Saturday evenings.
