Sadly now a hole in the ground, soon to be a carpark or other un-needed office building.
Sadly missed from its heyday in the early and mid 90's

This pub is on a slippery slope, no sky, no dodgy football channel, prices have gone up, not much more to say really

Another Alty pub where it's a more enjoyable visit if you get part of the clique. Mind, I've been told that a lot of the old cokehead regulars have gone now. Visited last year and was a nice, relaxed place.

this pub rules, cant argue with it on a saturday afternoon when theres a good crowd in, good to see a pub with a jukebox, they're almost extinct these days. definately a ching element to the place aswell which is always a bonus !

Easily the best pub in Altrincham, big screen, good pool table, good juke box, darts, and table football
|
Good pint of Marston's Pedigree. Food good.

They've got Sky back in. One of the better pubs in Alty for big screen footy

Easily one of the best drinking establishments in Altrincham. (Certainly with-in the top 3 in the whole of Trafford) Been back again recently. I now live in Lancashire, so am unable to go in as much as i wish i could. The staff were still really friendly, the clientel were a good crowd. The standards still quite high (Clean toilets etc) I love the beer garden! It takes you away from reality for a while! Not a bad size, not too big, ive seen smaller. Nice and secluded at the back of the pub, and all fenced in. Trellis line the walls, a small waterfall-water feature adds to the relaxing ambience of this beer garden. Partial covering for those not so pleasent days/nights! Once again played old classics such as Carpenters, soul and alike. It's like your own back garden-but with a bit of class! The lager was clean and crisp too. Well worth a visit if in the Altrincham area, or near by. Well done everyone down at the Railway. Keep it up! 5 mins (if that) from the Altrincham Metrolink/train and bus interchange and taxi rank. (Over the way from the malt shovels, and accross the road from the Old Mill.

Good but they have need to get Skysports back in.

What a fine watering hole this establishment is, clint eastwood would be proud. The barstaff are very organised and are always willing to offer you advice on lifes little problems. The toilet facilities are always clean and smell like teen spirit(beautiful). Pints of stella are exspensive but are a supremely refreshing beverage. The pool table is easily the best in old altrincham town and the beer garden is cosy. Me and my friends Dutch,Blain,Hawkins,Dillon and Mack all enjoy the superb atmosphere. ps don't you think "atmosphere" by russ abbott is a rubbish song because i do......peace

Beer Garden is really good.Definately impressed.Small but private.A greay relaxed drinking spot in a chaotic crap hole called Alty!! Good music played on outside speakers-good atmosphere.Easily best pub in Alty. Hopefully will be making it MY local once i move back down to cheshire. Staff seem friendly enough.

As is always noted this pub is good for pool as the standard is very high. You have this place and the malt which is opposite which are probably the only pubs with juke boxes and pool tables. The only problems are the people in there who like to think that winning a 2 inch "merit" trophys makes them the Yoda of 8 ball world.

Very good pool players play here but thats alright because i am a former merit champion and play like a demon. Decent pub with no scumbags. Beer garden needs more sunssshhiinneeee!!!!

Excellent for what you would class as a day pub. fruit machines & pool table. Staff are friendly and they seem to have found a very old antique. its apparently called a "juke box". I always thought pubs/bars by law had to play sean paul albums over and over again. Well done but please get some more rock n roll albums in there and get rid oif the now cd's!

This is one of the few traditional pubs left in Altrincham. With a great atmosphere and an outside beer garden for the summer. Good value food and the staff and licencees are great. A rare sight; that of a pool table is also available. A large TV screen is erected for football and overall a great experience

bar staff michelle well horny. Landlady wendy well down to earth. Locals well friendly. All in all sound except at dinner time when office workers come in for lunch, service goes down hill.
