please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

I popped in here a few weeks ago and enjoyed my visit. They had a refurb a year ago and it looks completely different to the pics on here. Much cleaner, beer was good and the staff were friendly. There was a footie match on and there was a great atmosphere among the locals who were very welcoming. Good menu, I got 2 meals for the price of one. I would recommend this pub to anyone!!

Not sure about the recent refurb, which seems to have made the place a bit more generic, if a bit tidier. They look after their beer here though, and I've always found the service to be good. Prices are reasonable and its usually pretty quiet.

There's often a mob of regulars in the public bar (with all the games & pool table) but they're harmless. The other side is mostly quiet and a decent place to sit and chill. Not really explored the menu, but it seems to be routine fare and I don't think much effort goes into it. They have Sky and are pretty accomodating in terms of what they'll put on.

I don't suppose anyone would go out of their way to go there, but its a perfectly servicable boozer, and I'm glad its on the island (which has precious little else in terms of community assets)

A McMullens pub, a bit better than many of the charmless establishments in the area. Traditional two-bar layout, retaining the distinct difference between lounge and public bars that seems increasingly rare these days. At least in had some real ale, although my pint of County wasn't much to write home about.

Popped in for a pint last week but found it had gone downhill a lot in the last couple of years. Staff friendly enough but I thought my pint wasn't really up to scratch.

Called in whilst walking the Lee Valley northwards - it is the first pub we came to having passed the 2 near Lee Bridge Road and the boarded up Rifles.
Locals pub with pool table and tv in one room along with most of locals. From the lack of celebrations Tottenham must have lost. The other room is larger but of the few tables occupied there seemed a high proportion of heavy smokers around.
Beer was fine though - McMullens County (stronger than the nondescript AK) was about 2.10 a pint

Went in here a bit drunk a couple of weeks ago. Very friendly pub. Beer was more than adequate.

well worth avoiding. Like all mcmullens pubs it is ridiculoulsy expensive and the high prices certainly don't guarantee good sevice, nor alas do they keep out the riff raff. If you must go there try the public bar and eaves drop on some of the scintilating and intelectual conversation to be enjoyed there.

I shall echo the comments below as the lady working in the Greyhound on Tuesday afternoon last was very friendly indeed. Having cycled up the Lee from Markfield Park with a friend we stopped for pint in the beer garden at the front, ideal for looking after the bikes. PLUS two pints of McMullen AK (Hertfordshier brewers) was around 4.25 as I remember. We then got the train back from Enfield lock station... less said about that the better.

Really friendly staff, great service.
Only annoying thing - they empty my ashtray to often....

Seemed strangely bright in the lounge on Friday evening.

I notice they have "guinness happy hour all day" on St. Patricks day (17 March).

The pub has greatly improved when the new landlord and lady took over. Great atmosphere IMHO.

It's the nearest pub to my home, otherwise I probably wouldn't have noticed it. Fairly average local pub really, but being a McMullens it has a few decent real ales so it suffices when I'm in the mood for the odd pint.

I believe a_northerner is simply unlucky. I have had the pleasure to frequent this fine watering hole since moving to the area and have very few complaints. Apart from the food being average (although large portions), and there being too many of the wrong coloured balls on the pool table.

This pub would be great - if it wasn't for the landlady!

She has attempted to short change me on more than one occasion, giving a pound coin too few in the change.

On top of this she has the cheek to charge me for 3 pints of stella when I am drinking fosters.

Don't get me wrong - as long as the landlady isn't serving you, this pub is one of the best in Enfield Lock.
