Always a great deal on whether it's 2 meals for £8 or 2 cocktails for £7. There's live music 3 nights of the week plus oher entertainment too. Great location on the harbour, there's something for everyone here.

good pub , brilliant location ! decent choice of beers although sunday majority were off so limited, food is decent (recommend the platter for 2 in downstairs bar) staff friendly, ideal to watch footy and have couple beers and bite to eat , 1 of better pubs in area

Dirty big pub only useful if you're desperate to catch a game on Sky Sports

I go to Weymouth every year and have not been in this place since 2001 when I was on exercise in nearby Wyke Regis.
Us squaddies piled in to the place back then and had an excellent evening with a very good live band. Needless to say we had sunk a fair few on our way to the place and were ever so slightly merry once there. Alas that was some time ago now and wife and child have put paid to such merryment. I may try and drag them in next year when we are down there!

Dirty toilets, knackered carpet (particularly after a so-called refurb), staff doing the food had a 'computer says no' attitude when it came to making minor alterations to our kids choices, and finally my daughter was told to get off the raised bit in the middle for 'health and safety' reasons when pictures on the webiste clearly show people on it when the pub is busy.
I thought it looked like a 'yoof' place despite the 'family menu' adverts outside. I was right.

shame really, good food, my wife and i have been there now 4 years in a row on our hols as we are regs to weymuff but to give the place a chance...!!!!! the toilets have never changed, damaged.. do not flush.!!! music is so load OVER YOUR MEAL..

There is always a place for somewhere like this in any town, somewhere where 'yoof' can go and get smashed. Lured by the '2 meals for 9' sign, my wife and I popped in here early on a Thursday evening. There were a couple of parties going on, and they had obviously been knocking them back, as they quickly got louder and louder. I had the Hunters Chicken, which was overloaded with salt, but not bad. The service was quicker than they said. What was incongruous with the place is the fantastic views over the harbour and bridge. We tried to shut ourselves away in the small 'parlour' and just admired the scenery. Needless to say, we did not stay for too long but retired to the Kings Arms across the bridge.

Generations of Portland based sailors will remember this as the good old Harbour Club otherwise known as the "sticky carpet". Not worth bothering with any more!

This is obvisously a young person's 'club' type pub but has a great location on the river. Popped in for a pint and meet up with family for lunch. Normal collection of tinned draft beers - Stella, Fosters and other junk. Service was awful, during my ordering a round the person serving me decided to serve some chips up to a table, not her fault just bad organisation. Didn't bother to eat. Avoid - unless you are a clubbing type who likes Fosters and music that resembles a car a alarm going off

Wow what an amazing weekend, i went to the rendezvous with some friends on friday night and it was awsome, the staff were full of energy and got the customers involved in the night. There were some great drink offers on too. This is a place not to be missed.
blonetronics - 20 Apr 2009 21:59
The majority of staff were not friendly. The bouncers pushed a guy down the steps, I felt sick by what I saw. That was the last time I went, and I will not be returning.

Have eaten here a couple of times, takes ages to have the table cleaned and the food someone had tipped on the floor remained there until the manager ordered one of the bar staff who had been stepping over it for 20 minutes to clean it.My chicken was frozen in the middle, not exactly how it should be cooked in my opinion.Typical couldn't care less attitude bar staff.

why i didnt review the comments here before my visit i will never know!! I decided to dine for lunch and after sending my food back twice decided enough was enough and walked out. We all make mistakes but the " dont give a shit" attitude of the barman was the final straw. Staff uninterested, Toilets a disgrace.Food!! wot food! NOT for me i'm afraid

i arrived at Rendezvous two months ago, fresh from pouring beer Down Under.Since i've been working at Vouz,i have been overwhelmed by how close knit our barstaff team are.we are all happy with our colleagues, our work and in general, and i really think that it comes across to the customers.

Now maybe i'm being biased, and obviously a lot may have changed in the past year, but i think Rendezvous is a great bar, with good offers,a good crowd and friendly staff.

So i urge you to go try it out for yourself, and guaranteed, you'll have a tops night.

You have to visit rendezvous when in Weymouth. Cheesy Music & cocktails. It's definatley worth a visit. Yes there might be a lot of squaddies but what do you expect when they have a training camp down the road!! I love it
tink - 28 Oct 2005 13:41
Yes the staff do need a reality check they do not have definitive control over everyone. And if you say the manager is surly it obviously has rubbed onto the employees.
tash_xx - 7 Oct 2005 21:36
Nice to see weymouths finest teenagers putting their comments to this establishment

I used to go here in the nineties and everytime i come back to have a little look it is still as cr@p as it always has been. A pretentious would be wine bar where the average bouncer IQ is 1
old_speckled - 3 Aug 2005 13:37
i think this place is such a big let down!!!!!!! it used to be so nie and stuff! but now its the same as ever where else! the door men just do there job and if u dont like it f*ck off to somewere where there arent any then a fight kicks off and u get caught up in it! then ur all like were are the door man bla bla bla! u wait soooooooooo long for a drink the staff are so rude to never smile either and the boss well! knob head!

Firstly when has the rond ever been called the ren??
Ive lived here donkeys now and since the "ren" had its refurb its been down hill, staff and customers need bringing down a peg or to. It has got a great cocktial list although not at a great price. And i think the bouncers here are the worst kind, they need telling the sun really doesnt shine out of there arses.
natnatnat - 23 Feb 2005 01:33
i think the pub is cool i really liked it i miss it and i wish everyone forgive me, i'm sorry, best pub in weymouth!!!

As a resident of Weymouth, I would personally advise this club to you. The other choices such as Harry's (good if you are 40+, a squaddie or are 15 year old single mums) Banus (too expensive, uptight crowds) and The Tickled Hippy (No comment) are far, far worse. Ok, so the REN (as we locals call it) may play pants music (except on a sat nite when Simon Muldoon does his best), serve expensive drinks after 30 mins at the bar and the bouncers may be complete assholes but you're in Weymouth, its pretty rough so the bouncers are like that everywhere here. Its the tourists and squaddies they prey on so if you've got an accent, hold your tongue and watch your back. Cant blame the bouncers really though, its only holiday makers and squaddies that cause trouble. So if you want an average nite surrounded by a decent clientelle, the REN is the choice for you!!
Anna Hill - 9 Aug 2004 20:15
Just want to say i agree with gavinda, The bouncers tend to always be looking for a fight, rude and have their own rules, for a good time i advise the tickled hippy not as good but better is Banus but is a bit on the expensive side
David - 3 Jun 2004 13:39
Great place, music good, more men than women! Relaxed atmos, went back the next night and the bouncers I found to be very reasonable and freindly.
