Thrush can't see anything wrong about a traditional English pub that doesn't serve traditional English beer. And he calls me an idiot?

Did cellarbuoy actualy visit this pub??????? If so he obviously visited to many pubs before The Queen Mary What is miserable about a traditional pub trying to survive? The pub is no longer a real ale outlet after having five pumps on at a time and still not selling enough they only stock one real ale "Doom Bar" so the comment "rather stale ales" is at least an exaggeration and describing the staff as "Stale" shows what an idiot he is There are 4 screens showing football, Rugby, Speedway, Darts and Golf. Maybe if he had actually looked around and talked to the staff maybe he could have given a real review rather than lies.

A pretty miserable example of an English pub, rather stale ales on offer served by rather stale bar staff. Two bug TV screens for those who like their footy

THIS PUB IS IN WEST STREET POOLE (not west quay road) This pub is now open every day except Tuesday. It is serving Ringwood Best and 49er Cheaper than the Ringwood pub (The Angel) It is offering home cooked food. It shows Rugby and Football on two big screens. It has pool and darts. It has a car Park and a BIG beer Garden

Reopening 9th April after a lengthy refubishment

This pub is under refurbishment an will re-open in a couple of weeks.

Three of us went in last Friday. Apparently the pub had been closed for 4 days. The Ringwood Best was like vinegar. Then a pint of 49er was the same - all handed back.
But the keg lager was also undrinkable and the Guiness was below average. Luckily my bottle of Newkie Brown could not be ruined.
This is such a shame as i had thought that this was a proper booze with a commitment to real ale. They do seem to have two flat screen tellys on the wall now - so that may be thre priority - instead of looking after the cellar properly. I'll give it 4 out of 10 for from sympathy.
We left and headed to the Brewhouse. That was great.

Great pint of Sharps Doom Bar. Pleasant and efficient bar staff. Not many locals in evidence due to the appalling weather. Didn't try the food. A good counterpoint to the chaos and mayhem that is Poole quay.

Under new management & with it comes a redecoration, bit bright and shiny for me now, but the welcome is still good (and there does seem to be more people in there now)

Wandered in here whilst depressed at how bad The Lord Wimborne was during the recent beer festival that the 'Spoons had. Nice pub - very quiet at the time (the 2 of us and 1 member of staff) but the beer was good, the pub has a very 'local' feel to it. Enjoyed several Palmers and a very pleasant 49'er. I make a point of dropping in whenever I am in the area now
