please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Comfortable, relaxed, yet lively atmosphere to be found in this fine old building.

Decent ales are served in a pleasant village setting. I haven't tried the food, but I think some rivals have been downrating this pub.

The food is OK but like many pubs, the meals aren't very well balanced. If this problem were solved, the pub would be one of my regulars.

I don't understand the low rating for this pub. It is a good one.

THIS PUB IS A ONE OFF THERE IS NO MUSIC FOR A START A GREAT MENU AND LOTS OF REAL ALES YOU WOULD HARDLY BELIEVE ITS IN A CHAIN OF PUBS THE MANAGERS HAVE INTRODUCED A NO SMOKING AREA AND HAVE JUST HAD A BEER GARDEN AND SMOKING AREA ERECTED IN THE COURTYARD WITH TWO BIG UMBRELLA'S IT LOOKS QUITE GOOD JUST TOO COLD AT THE MINUTE TO GO OUTSIDE AND TEST DRIVE

FANTASTIC PUB!!!
Moved to Wollaton at the beginning of the year and was worried that the rodders would be a real local place and unwelcoming to us new folk....
couldn't have been more mistaken...
Great food, great beer, friendly locals, FAB staff...
Always something going on from quizzes to curry nights and open late to boot!
I have practically lived in this place all year its great!

The admiral is a local pub for local people. I have been going there at least 2 nights a week, every week, for 3 years and the landlord (and his 'missus') are yet to care to find out my name, even though i work in a building not 25yards away from the front door and see them most times I go in.

All the drinks are over priced, the place needs a refurb (although apparently got one earlier this summer?! I couldn't notice a difference), never any music, always so smokey your eyes water, very dingy. Some picnic tables amongst the staff parking is the 'beer garden'. Not one blade of grass is in the pubs grounds....

Why do I keep going there? Its the location, and, as others have said, the same crowds go there the same times each week. They look after their beers and the hired staff always come across to the punters as very happy (and generally very attractive).

Havnt been in there for ages but for all you who know Roger the old landlord of approx 12 years ago it was an EXCELLENT pub with great food great atmosphere and great people, very useful next to the church if you're getting married there!

Bit of an OAP/adult pub. Good for food and a quite drink. Traditional style, old pub.

Place looks very tatty and dark. Sunday lunch today was awful - reheated meat, soggy Yorkshire, too much gravy and only 2 veg, both of which were out of tins. Shameful.

Good Sunday lunch and popular quiz night. Good selection of beers.
