Full of gormless thuggish looking cretins probably from the nearby 1960's distopian council flats. The beer was cheap but tasted watered down. Left before finishing the the beer; couldn't get away quick enough.

Stumbled over this pub on my way to another. Fairly well hidden at the back of fine looking church. Though only lunch time on a Monday the majority of punters were well into it, boisterous tending to obnoxious. A problem for solo travellers is being adopted by pub bores, and I copped a beauty here. Amongst details of his health & finances he advised that Monday was mad & I couldn't disagree. My pint of Greene King IPA was swiftly necked & I sprinted to a more sane location.

Bland pubco refurb, all flatpack job which is a pity, especially as the rent hike demanded by said Enterprise in return has led to a revolving door of hapless tenants.
|
Enterprise Inns have this on the market to rent - 27,000 PA
|
Holding Relief in here at the moment and its reported that beers are circa 2 a pint?

Decent pint of Gem was quaffed last week, friendly bar service and fairly busy too, shame the same cannot be said for the sad lonely falling apart bell down the road, sad times , 6.5/10
|
nice pub, friendy staff.A decent amount of locals seem to use the place, which is good to see

Courage Best and an excellent pint of Gem were on last saturday night(served in an Otter glass tut tut!).
Sprogs in main bar at 9pm,tut tut.
Barman needs to stay behind the bar, punters were walking in and out,tut tut.
Tightened up,with attention to detail, and a better range of ale and this could be as good as it was 7/8 years ago.

Newly reopened after a period of closure, this pub has been nicely refurbished.

Open again. Best and Pride on. Used always be Butcombe here.
|
CLOSED OF LATE.
Slowly slipping down the tubes since Steve and Elaine finished up. No ale last few times I was in. Don't let it become flats-but who must we complain to.

Tucked-away pub looks great from the outside. CAMRA newsletters inside and good choice of beer. Not made to feel unwelcome, but obviously a pub for local regulars.
