A really nice pub in a pleasant west country village. Good selection of ales, well kept, and a nice selection of whiskies and other premier spirits. Pleasant company and good food complete the package.

Very accommodating, nice selection of beers and good atmosphere. Food good too, what more could you ask for.

We stopped off from the A303 whilst travelling back from a festival and were really pleased with this little gem. The food was really tasty - especially the home cooked chips with the lamb burger. The beer was well kept and a great choice.....shame we will miss the upcoming beer festival :-( There was plenty of choice for seating (bar, restaurant) and a fantastic outdoor area with large climbing wall and giant noughts and crosses for the kids.

Large and friendly pub. Very handy for the David Hall. Separate dining room but food also served in the bar and beer garden. T.V. screens showing mainly sport, but you can sit where they don't intrude.
I had the Otter, which was nicely kept. Large range of Cider also on. The food was good, reasonably priced and large portions.
Well worth a visit to explore the very pretty village.

Nice pub in the centre of the lovelly hamstone village of Suth Petherton. Ales were first class, and the place is big enough to have diners and sports on the tv together with darts etc without one annoying the other. Worthy of being on the Somerset CAMRS's pub trail (which is more than can be said of many others on the list)

Going back here in August and I'll give a more up-to-date review then, but the last time I went in here about a year ago it hadn't changed from a holiday in South Petherton a couple of years previously. Beer range good and well kept and the food, which was the main reason for our latest visit, was excellent. It was one of the best pubs in Somerset, I'll review again in August to see if it's changed.

busy place in the centre of village, always good ale selection and quality.....not eaten here but looks like a popular pub-type menu. A very good beer enthusiastic landlord always helps of course.
|
This a well named pub with a decent beer selection that must rotate, as there is a chalk board showing the status of various ales on tap, those that are settling, and the scheduled deliveries.
|
Great pub, new outside covered smoking area, always good real ales and good food. Beer festivals are brilliant. Typical village pub with excellent landlord.

The Brewers is a great pub at the heart of a lively village. Always good beer and great food. Picture postcard little courtyard at the rear, beer garden and great atmosphere. The restaurant gives you a quiet, classy dining alternative to the lively bar with live sport on the screens. The beer festivals are well worth a visit.

Brilliant pub in the middle of a very quaint but lively village. Good local atmosphere which is very endearing and enjoyable. The pub supports the local sport scene with both the football and cricket teams enjoying fantastic success recently which was helped by the superb fundraising race nights held at the 'Brewers' which raised over 1000 for the football team and 700 for the cricket team. The beer festival over August Bank Holiday is a must for anyone local, with loads of guest ales from around the globe and fun activities, including the duck race fundraiser on the local stream.
Just off the A303 to, so if passing make sure you don't miss out on this classy little boozer, which has a decent restaurant attached. Kids are also made welcome. Only downside? Closing Time, but now has the facillity to open all hours due to the new licencing laws, if the punters are a plenty and is worth the landlords time!!!

Great local pub, regualerly has been voted CAMRA Somerset pub of the year. Two brilliant beer festivals on each of the bank holiday weekends at the start and end of the summer. Really friendly staff, good food, what more do you want?
