Alex, Felixstoweback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Odd inverted snobbery in some of the comments here. "Soulless yummy-mummy types"? Why are yummy mummies soulless? Hohum.
We have made numerous family visits to The Alex now, and it is clearly the best place to eat in Felixstowe. The food is simple but good, the environment clean and pleasant and the staff friendly and welcoming, especially to children. Sure, the beer is limited - Adnams if you don't want lager - but it's not bad Adnams, and that's pretty good by any objective measure.
If you want decent food in a decent environment served by friendly staff, it's fine. If you want beer with twigs in it, "colourful characters" and the smell of wet dog (as I sometimes do - nothing wrong with that) then perhaps somewhere else would be a better choice...

Expensive. The only 'beer' is Adams Spindrift and the normal lagers.

Clean, smart, classy place with great views and location and plenty of outside seating with heaters for the winter. Good range of beers wines and a well set out Menu.
Bit expensive though with a large glass of white wine at 5.95! Food is good quality but small portions and again expensive. You need to feel rich to feel comfortable dining there..
Nice atmosphere and family friendly over all a nice place to visit if you are in town. Leaves a better impression on Felixstowe than some other places.

A pretentious pub with an uncomfortable and cliquey atmosphere, due in part amount of customers being soulless yummy mummy types. And whilst I also found the drinks and food to be expensive the lager was flat and the real ale was almost off. The food I had was overly greasy and oily. Staff were friendly, and The Alex is in a good seafront location, but that's not enough to redeem the negatives, so for these reasons, The Alex scores 3/10 from me.

Found the place to be very trendy but loved the view. Staff attentive but not overly friendly. Food enjoyable

Great place to eat. The resteraunt is upstairs, but there is a lift for those with wheelchairs. The upstairs location gives great view of the North Sea and to see the ships sailing in and out of the nearby ports. The pub itself is a bit trendy for my personal taste, but it is always busy so it certainly has that corner of the market catered for.
