A pretentious pub with an uncomfortable and cliquey atmosphere, due in part amount of customers being soulless yummy mummy types. And whilst I also found the drinks and food to be expensive the lager was flat and the real ale was almost off. The food I had was overly greasy and oily. Staff were friendly, and The Alex is in a good seafront location, but that's not enough to redeem the negatives, so for these reasons, The Alex scores 3/10 from me.

The Cork, Felixstowe
Dreary and scruffy. Once the Cork was one of Felixstowes finest pubs, where the landlord took pride in the appearance, and crucially, the beer. Now the Cork is a shadow of its former self, which is depressing. The one redeeming feature of the pub is its Victorian balcony. However, door staff enthusiastically stop you from taking your drinks onto the balcony, so its really somewhat pointless. With a little effort it could be a great place in a superb location, but at the moment it isnt, so for these reasons, The Cork scores 3/10 from me.
