I was here a couple of weeks back on a baking hot Friday lunch time. Place was quiet but then it is at Church End rather than the main village centre. Lovely looking and clean pub on the outside and in. Nice friendly staff as well. Looks like a proper country pub as well, not a false look. 2 bars knocked into one I'm guessing as I could make out what seemed to be the former 'Off Sale' spot which now links the bars. 3 Brakspear ales on, so I had the best and went down well and only £3.20 which is cheap for Hertfordshire. I did not eat but others were and all seemed happy with their large portions. The only thing missing was a large Hollybush out front.

We have given it another go and if anything the Hobgoblin has improved.
The food is also very good and reasonably priced.
We will return.
I have raised my rating from 6 to 7.

Does anyone know if this pub shows sport on TV?

We called in here at about 5.00pm on a warm, sunny, Sunday afternoon. Surprisingly, there were only a few people in the, quite nice, dog friendly garden, and no-one indoors. Didn't see any of the food, so can't comment on it. I had a pint of Hobgoblin. Not one of the best I have ever had, but this will not stop us from returning for another go.

The Hollybush is set in the attractive Church End area of Redbourn just down from the cricket ground. Its well presented and has a nice friendly community feel to it. Real Ale served with changing guests. Large beer garden.

Regular user of this pub.Very well run, orderly house. Olde worlde charm slightly spoilt by dominating large screen tv always showing football.Beer quality not consistant and expensive Food good, decent portions, good value.Been under new managementfor nearly two years

Always used to head straight here when in Redbourn but no more. On my penultimate visit we were served(?) by a vacant, humourless barmaid (landlady?) who took over 5 minutes to pour 3 pints in between gassing with her mate in the other bar. One more try a week later and we got an intimidating old besom, most reluctant to offer a sample of an unfamiliar guest ale. Sorry to have troubled you, ladies.
For those of you with more patience than I, still a pleasant old pub serving Brakspear (cooking & premium) and Adnams bitter - and an occasional mystery beer!

Charming old pub with a goodish selection on the pumps and never a sniff of vinegar. Fine garden for the hot days; winter fire not lit with the same enthusiasm as previous landlord. Overall, the best in Redbourn.

Good local boozer that serves and excellent selection of real ale. Friendly bar staff and huge beer garden make it an ideal place for a good seeion.
