Recently had a makeover, not to bad a job either, ale was in good nick when I last visited, not everyones cup of tea but it's OK during the day (the only time I've ever been in here).

Yates'. If you want a fight, late at night there's only one place to go. Staff can be very rude. Stack em high, sell em cheap type thing. Usual Yates' style crowded, noisy, unfriendly, drunken affair, they can make any place terrible. Avoid it.

Well it is a chain pub targeting everyone. Lot's of large screen TV's, big menus with 125 dishes to choose from and two (realish) ales. I had a Bombadier - a lacklustre encounter. An okay pub to watch Saturday football and you will always have a seat near a screen....but like I say - it's a yates.

Not at all my kind of place, more a club than pub and the last time I turned up I think I was the older male there by some years. Dedicated beer drinkers avoid.
|
being a cask drinker when i went in. at the bar it said bombardier on cask.this has the worse pint of bombardier i have had. it was warm poor taste to it and a was flat.the pub is not really that good either
|
Only one ale (Bombadier) and as I was just about to order another punter told me it was awful so I left. OK if you're a lager drinker I suppose.
|
against my better judgment I was there last night for a Michael Jackson impersonator. they had Bombadier on tap at a reasonable price and while also the woman who served me did so with all the graciousness of an MP handing back his moat cleaning expenses, they got the beer in the glass. Away from a special event Yates is part of the 'town centre triangle' Yates, Spoons and the Havelock and therefore full of people mainly concerned with getting as drunk as possible. For decent beer and food head into the old town.

having been a regular for the past few years,i am shocked by the downturn over the last few months in the quality & presentation of food now presented to the customers, this includes partially defrosted veggie burgers, items missing from basic menu items i.e combo for two missing both dips, dressing on the salad and the tortilla chips, basic items out of stock despite being on special offer, lack of management direction and low staff morale caused by constant customer complaints.despite the previous comments the staff deserve praise for their friendly if somewhat apologetic & defensive approach to their customers,i no longer order food here

very rude waitress on 28 june 2009 between 5-6pm!!! at first she wanted to see my ID to order food (!!!), when I shown my national CZ driving licence she refused to serve me as 'they don't accept laminated IDs'.. how funny!!!! moreover i'm 26 and i think i don't look like 18 unfortunately.. :( she didn't call the manager when i asked her. i've never came over such rude behavior and i think such people should't work in hospitality and catering industry.. she ruined my sunday afternoon in hastings

In common with the other pubs close by and in the town centre, Yates is not a good venue for a quiet drink on a Saturday. Pleasant enough during the week and a good choice for a pint and a snack during the daytime. Had Kronenbourg wheat beer on tap the last time I was there, but fairly expensive.
True of the matter would seem to be that there are limited decent drinking venue in the Town Centre during the weekend. Take a walk half a mile East to the old town and find something better!

Only been during the day. The breakfast is superb value and the bar staff really friendly and helpful.
|
God only knows how this place has such a high rating; while it's not too bad in the daytime at night, particularly on weekends, it's full of more chavs and naer-do-wells than anywhere else in the town bar possibly The Havelock. Avoid like the plague.

No real ale

Pretty much the same as any Yates' in the country. Nothing spectacular, nothing new, just, average chain pub with average chain pub food and average chain pub drink.
|
i think this pub is one of the best in hastings it has everything you could want to a club atmosphere to a chill out on sunday with your mum and listen to live acoustic guitar music along with all the extreamly fit bar maids especially the 2 called lisa and cat also looking to the live rock nights on wednesdays coming up soon and 1.75 a drink on thursday nights who can complain!
|
Like every other Yates' fight lodge its full of chavs eyeing each other for their next fight or alleyway shag! avoid......I warned you....
|
hi there i think ur pub is great with excellent atmosphere. i have eaten and drank at your pub many times on a weekday or early evening with and without my family, but when it comes to a friday or sarturday night and i go out with my friends we all get asked for id and when we produce are citizens cards we all get turned away. so i was just woundering why you dont accept these cards when other pubs/clubs do? i would be very grateful if u could email and let me no why. thank you

layout is not bad considering it's a chain. I've seen it both at night and during the day and the clientele doesn't vary. you have to watch for the vultures watching your every quid going into the fruit machines but isn't that the case in every pub? didn't try the food but it looked good from what I saw

Went on a day out Saturday and went into this pub for a bite to eat. The interior is very modern looking, and clean. Tables and chairs outside for sitting in the sun was nice.
We had 6 meals, 4 adult's and 2 children's, and the total cost, including drinks was just over 22...very good value for money!
