Marine Hotel, Hornseaback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Location is everything!! Green king pub on the promenade, with a beer garden overlooking both the beach and North promenade bowls club. I only had a few drinks here, but found nothing to complain about. Dog friendly, with Abbot, IPA, Black Sheep and Theakstons Old Peculiar. I had never visited Hornsea, but enjoyed its old world, East Riding charm..

This pub was refurbished and looks much better. The bar staff are great. The food is a sensible price, unfortunately it can vary between fantastic and burnt to a crisp (although usually good). The beer (specially 'guest ale') is overpriced for the area and quality of establishment. I am happy to pay these prices if the pub merits the cost but this is a Wetherspoons clone! The rmain eason for low score is the poor customer service skills of the manager. She seems to have good business sense, but is perhaps not front of house material.

At last this pub has had the refurb it deserves, beer garden great the smoking den has been relocated and the beer is still good, and so is the staff. Well worth a visit now. Great location on the seafront, views are fantastic.

Lived in Hornsea 30 years and I have eaten in The Marine a lot of times throughout this period. Hand on heart!! Best meal I have ever had there steak with dianne sauce cooked to absoloute perfection most definately be dining there again. Only disadvantage was we had to wait quite a while but the food certainly made up for the wait.

Quiet agree with Noggin46. Lovely staff, beer fine but a the total lack of investment in this pub is a disgrace, especially considering its prominent position on the seafront.

On my previous visit to this pub, the place was a disgrace, seating was shiny black with dirt in the bar, little better in the lounge and the toilets were terrible and smelt! And the floor had a large hole, covered with plywood I went in at the weekend and the seating had been recovered the conservatory had been renewed and tidied up, and the place looked a little better inside, but the outside is as bad as ever and looks terrible and run down. This pub does a good trade dispite all this. You would think the chain that owns it would spend some money on it and put it back to the best looking pub in town, were it was. Good point, the staff seem a friendly lot and the smoking den is brilliant, with great views! The beer is cheap and a decent pint.
