This was quite a busy and noisy pub. The patrons were watching the football scores come through on the TV. Fairly unremarkable pub which had Doom Bar, Wandle & Ghost Ship all on.

my local. really nice pub. very friendly and efficient staff and great food. ale selection could be a touch bigger - usually 4 taps and 1 will be repeated so giving 3 ales but they are usually quality beers.

Quite a nice pub - part of the Smith and Jones chain if I remember their name rightly - on what is actually a pretty grotty street running north from the Barbican up to Old Street. A spacious inside and four real ales on when I visited, including Sharp's Doom Bar and IPA. Clientele looked to be made up of local office workers, although I'm not sure how many offices there are round here, and I'd have thought this a bit far for workers from the Barbican area to bother venturing to.

Spent time at The Trader Aug 2008. Very clean, great atmosphere, great food. All staff very friendly and accomodating. Will be back on our next visit to the UK.

Not the same pub since the previous landlord left the new people dont seem that interested in the place

I went here just before Christmas to meet a friend as this place was well received on here. I found it a little disappointing, as although the food was okay and the staff friendly, the place is a little soulless. There are better pubs nearby.
5/10.

Went here for lunch today. From the outside I had a brief flash of terror as I imagined the filthy blood-soaked market pub that would lie within, but in actual fact it was a really nice boozer. Obviously recently refurbished, but not in a poncey way. Nice old scuffed wood floors and wooden furniture. Good balance. Food was pretty tasty too. And they've got a pool table - woohoo!

Been going to this pub now for about 4 years on and off and I have never had a bad evening. The landlord and his wife are excellent fun, entertaining and run a great city boozer. The food is good & quick and the atmosphere for big football matches is superb.
Great pub, great beer, great landlord - what more can you want.

Myself and a load of workmates used to drink there - but the landlord Owen eventually annoyed us so much we've moved on. He's very in-your-face, quite loud and aggressive. The pub itself is not bad, wooden floors, big screen TV etc. The bar staff are nice - amazing when they have to deal with Owen. I'd avoid if possible - the White Lion close by is much better (our new local - with a lovely, friendly landlord).

Nice pub, nice landlord.

just a brilliant down to earth boozer, made especially great by the landlord. I'd pay extra for my pint just to have him growl!

Used to use this one sometimes when I worked around there. Pretty good all round. Cheapish decent food. Can get packed in the evenings!

Nice spacious pub next to a market just off Old Street. Close enough to the city to be conveniant but not close enough to be full of ya-ya suited types.
All your usual beers. The food is quick and tasty if you excuse the goth waiter with a bad attitude!
Good atmosphere for after work drinks.
