Full range of Hook Norton on - I went for a Hooky, which was cloudy but tasted OK.
We were there at Sunday Lunchtime. Although they do offer the full menu, there are no light bites or sandwiches. This isn't a complaint - most places just do Sunday Lunch.
Everyone there was dining.

This is a great place. It is owned by Hook Norton, rather than some PubCo, so as long as you don't mind drinking their Ale's, you wont go far wrong.
The Menu is varied, good value and high quality. The Licensee is passionate about what he does, and this shows, right the way through.

We were recommended this pub by staff @ The Old Mint in Southam. It was around 4pm on a Saturday afternoon, and whilst they were not serving food, quite a few people suggested this place. First appearances are not great; It is not a particularly attractive building, and I thought from the outside it looked a bit of a chain pub. However, as soon as you walk through the door you get the impression this is a classy establishment. The whole pub area is pretty much given over to eating, however a few groups did come in and just drink. Beers are all from The Hook Norton brewery (Old Hooky, Hooky and Lion), and were all very nice. The Food was fantastic, with the lunch menu also being very reasonable @ £5.95 a head. Definitely recommended....

Whilst staying in the area we visited a number of pubs to look at the menus and clientele as in the past during our travels we have been disappointed with the food and surroundings of places we have booked despite researching them on the internet and being told that they rated highly. Unfortunately businesses can go downhill very quickly and lots of reviews are very old.
We visited the Kings Head on Tuesday 9th August 2012. The outside of the pub appears a little drab and not particularly inviting but once inside the surroundings are very pleasant. I had a pint of very well kept Old Hookey beer . My wife had a soda water with ice and lemon for which we were not charged. The staff were extremely friendly and not overbearing despite our just perusing the menu. I have to say it is one of the best menus I have seen for a long time with an array of unusual starters, mains and sweets. We would have had difficulty choosing if we had been eating. We decided to book for Sunday lunch.
At 2pm we arrived and were swiftly shown to our table by a very pleasant young lady who handed us the menus and explained the daily specials available. We both opted for a starter of terrine of smoked mackerel, trout and salmon with gherkin relish and wholemeal bread at a cost of �5.95 each. Absoloutely sublime and well worth the price considering the ample portions. For mains I had the slow braised blade of beef and my wife the lamb Sunday dinner. These came accompanied with a massive Yorkshire pudding, mashed potato and roast potatoes. A large bowl of seasonal vegetables including broccoli, cauliflower cheese, carrots and baby onions accompanied the meal. Despite the indulgent sweet menu beckoning we were unable to partake as we were as full as ticks.
Well worth a visit but book early as it was busy. Ample staff of two young ladies and two young men all of whom were extremely well mannered, polite and helpful made the service was excellent.

Met up with friends the other Saturday night found the Kingshead warm and welcoming possibly say it took quite a while to be served at certain points during the evening. When the bar tender chose to move our side of the bar to talk to his friends leaving a female who did not appear up to the task.
Appeared to be a well stocked bar & I gather there a restaurant on the other side of the building. There's a pool table and a juke box which held several hundred track so some thing for everybody's taste's I'm sure. Plenty of room in the large carpark and a beer garden for better weather with ample seating

Took in this pub one Saturday evening for a game of pool and a few pints. Probably more a food pub, but as we didn't eat here, I can't make any comments. Beer was Ok, though, and the pool table a good one away from the main bar area.
