Has reopened today after a major refurishment by new owners Westons Cider. Looks very promising with a good range of real ales, lagers and of course cider!

Great pub with plenty of parking, and lovely outdoor area/picnic tables to enjoy the sun. Plenty of meal choices, including designer pies and locally supplied sauges. Staff very friendly, and helpful. Definitely will be going back again! If you are into walking, this area is brilliant, especially along the Marcle ridge.

Wadworth's beer - unexceptional. Wanted to buy a sandwich but killed that idea when I was told that a minimum of 10 was necessary if I wanted to pay by card. Given that I was the only customer in there midweek, I just wonder why they felt it necessary to insist on this and thus lose my trade. And they wonder why pubs are closing faster than boiled asparagus...
They also have a very inbred barmaid...

Good locals pub. Nice place for a drink. Nothing special really. The beer and ciders are good and the locals friendly. Worth a pint and the Westons cider factory is just around the corner as is The Slip. You can do a bit of a pub crawl in the middle of knowhere.
The local garage - just across the road looks like the one from Heartbeat. Unspoilt.

Lovely Country pub with great variance in live music. Nice warm and welcoming staff and the food is really quite reasonable. Fantastic beer gardens at the front and rear of the pub. Really is an enjoyable place to sit and relax after a hard days work
