Lanherne Pub and Restaurant, Newquayback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
I wasn't expecting much from this place on the outskirts of Newquay and near the zoo and leisure centre. It was last in the Good Beer Guide in 2003. My initial thoughts were that it looked like a council estate pub. It's a large place and was very quiet on a Bank Holiday Monday evening. But there was a good selection of 3 ales and they weren't the usual Cornish standards I'd been finding (almost) everywhere else. The 3 were Tintagel Cornwall's Pride & Harbour Special & Keltek Even Keel. I tried the Harbour Special, which was probably the best ale I tried all weekend. The landlord seemed a bit of a character, with a dry sense of humour. But I really liked this pub and would recommend a visit if in Newquay.

No complaints last visit, very pleasant pint of Ale with a read of newspapers, will go again, didn't try food but there were others doing so.

A locals pub, the beers were skinners and tintagel and were pretty well kept, comfy enough pub a bit off the beaten track

Out of town and very much for the locals. That said beer is good.
|
The two pool tables and fact that it's away from the stag/hen do's of Newquay might make it worth a visit, but... wouldn't make an effort to go again.

Tucked away from the mad throng. You can't miss it, there are more pub signs around the outside than any pub I know. Several large rooms including a separate restaurant. Sky TV, reasonable food. Beers - Skinners Betty Stoggs, St Austell Tribute and Sharps Doombar usually served in good nick.
