Disappointing. This used to be an excellent pub with fantastic food (and lots of it) but now it just doesn't quite cut the mustard.
Although food is locally sourced the steak we had was not cooked as requested. Beer fair - Greene King usuals so nothing to write home about. Environs are very pleasant so it is disappointing that the food didn't match the previously excellent standard I had encountered when I last visited a few years ago.

Food is really good and reasonably priced, quite up-market but a really friendly atmosphere. Vegetarian choices are good, offers a wide range of food on the whole of really good quality. Lovely interior and an absolutely amazing beer garden for the summer, plus a huge play area, good lunch menu too. Really worth the journey, picturesque location next to a church in nice village, highly recommended.

This pub is one of those idillic village pubs with beautiful food, nice atmosphere and should be visited ASAP. Great in the summer cos it's got a huge beer garden.
