This is reputedly a very historic pub. Certainly it is genuinely old, with wooden beams and limited headroom. However, what it lacks is atmosphere. There was only one other person present when I visited on a Saturday lunchtime. Not much choice of beer either. Just two from Rebellion – a pale ale and an IPA. I tried the IPA which was very nice. I may be wrong, but I don’t think food was available. Also, pointless music being played to an empty room !

Is this Marlow's best 'real' pub? Must be close, Rebellion beers make's it special and normally at least 3 or 4 on. Not sure what the tie is but a guest would be good. Does get a bit packed especially when the sports on TV but to its credit open very late weekends

Can we have the tables back, and turn off that TV?

Excellent refurb - good crowd and has a couple of ales on - best pub in Marlow

Was closed when walked past Last Novemeber - Shame

Good, traditional town centre pub.
Can get busy at weekends, mainly due to size! Also can get a bit smokey due to low ceilings and the fact that nearly everyone smokes! Nice garden in summer. The manager, Barry, can be a bit grumpy at times.
Ale is of poor quality.

Superb, friendly no-frills boozer which has miraculously escaped being tarted-up despite its location. Good beer too, including locally-brewed Rebellion Blonde. If I lived in Marlow it'd be my local for sure!

Great pub, good landlord. Alot of the clientelle are not to my taste being a bit pretentious INHO butthen they probably don't like me either. Best thing about it is the cracking garden in the summer.

Nice pub, nice sofa, nice fire. Nice unusual nuts and olives and things in holiday style Spanish tins. Spent a Sunday afternoon that turned into an evening there in the winter of 2006 drinking lots of beer.
Nicest pub in Marlow!
Would certainly recommend it!

Great local pub with a friendly welcome and good beers. Well worth a visit anytime of the year - really comes alive in the summer months

Enjoyable visit. Beer good. Tall people seem to bash the ceiling.

Lovely little pub. Mind your head, though!
