My last here was in late 2001 so as I was in the area last week I was going to have a quick pint but it didn’t look that inviting.

On my next visit to SB I will stop for a quick one here to see if it’s better inside than it looks from the outside.

Use it occsionally for an early evening pint on the way home. Usually have a cheap beer , Doom Bar or Boondoggle at 2.45 pint which is a bargain round here. Beer kept well but pub has no atmosphere, that's early evening for you.

OK chain pub, v busy when i visited after a gig at the empire; much more characterful places a few hundred yards away down the Goldhawk Road

Didn't know, until I read it on here, that it was an ex- Spoons but it looks and feels exactly like one! Standard selection of ales at 2.80, which I guess is reasonable for the area. Very loud background music. Won't rush back.

Real ale is surprisingly good and cheap. Not tried the food, seems standard Wetherspoons-type stuff. The atmosphere can get a bit larey when there's an important game on and I could do without the screens. The staff appear friendly and efficient.

As mentioned before this place has a Wetherspoons feel to it from the cheap drinks and food to the curry nights, and whilst I was there, the stretched staff. Why on earth the management would expect one person to be barman, potman and waiter is beyond me.

Pride, Bombadier, Adnams and some nice Brains SA were available along with standard lagers during my visit.

Id not go out of my way to drink here, but Ive been in far worse pubs than this one.

Not a bad pub at the cheaper end of the market but gets busy when QPR are at home, even so the staff were on the ball (sorry for the pun) even if they were trying to serve while watching the game. Beers are well kept - this weekend saw London Pride, Bass, GK IPA and Bombardier. The food is OK and possibly a tad cheaper than 'spoons.

Originally the Moon on the Green, this former Wetherspoons is now part of the Barricuda chain. On my recent visits there have always been a good number of Ales available (most recently Brains SA, London Pride, Bass, Bombardier, Adnams and Old Rosie Cider) at very reasonable prices albeit not quite in Wetherspoons territory. Quality can vary but they are always drinkable if a bit on the cold side. The interior has a basic and functional approach with solid furninshings and bare floors. 3 plasma screens dish out Music TV which can be good or bad depending on your tastes. Reasonably priced meals but never actually eaten here. There is a downstairs bar which used to be used regularly in the Wetherspoons days but now appears to be more of a private function room available for hire. It naturally gets packed when QPR are at home but it is generally fairly comfortable in the early evenings. It is also convenient for Bush Hall, the Shepherds Bush Empire and the new Westfield Shopping Centre. Not a place to go out of the way for but certainly not the worst pub around and it has a bit more life than the sterile Wetherspoons down the road with a similar budget approach.

They have changed the management in the pub which I think it has improved a little bit with the attempt of opening a wine bar downstairs. The downstairs is excellent but the only problem is that there is no customers downstairs, therefore the bar there is not always open. The bar staff are friendly and the selection of beers is not bad but it could be better, and fairly price but dont ask for a double vodka redbull is 7!!!! When you can get it in the Whetherspoons in the shopping center for 3.95 and 2.99 on Mondays!!!!!

Good range of real beer at a reasonable price. Reasonable pub food. Lots of TVs. Great place to watch a game in the evenings on the way home from work.

Definitely the best option in the area for a pre-gig pint. Good range of beer, which was fine on the couple of times I've been there. The star of the options was definitely the draught Bass. Food looks a bit iffy however and there was some very strange US 'sports' being shown on the screens. Watch out for drunken QPR fans grumbling about another home defeat on match days.

Only just about ok, food is very basic stuff, wraps, sandwiches and the like. Anything else is going to be deep fried. Not a lot of choice around there though, better than the defective weld across the road. Not so many real ales on and lots of excuses about deliveries not turning up. Tend to go to wetherspoons instead, at least it's consistent.

A suprise gem of a place, given its location. Neighboured by O'Neills and Walkabout, I thought this would be another disappointing afternoon spent trying to enjoy the game. On the contrary, I was able to enjoy Premiership football on one screen, 6 nations rugby on the other, swift bar sevice, and a pleasant atmosphere. Best bar in the area.

Popped in for a late lunch yesterday to be rudely told that we needed to hurry up and order, because the kitchen closed at 3pm (despite signs to the contrary); and that the first items we tried to order (including burgers) had run out.

A reasonable selection of ales were available with a curious buy-one-get-your-next-one-free offer - though the taps had hand-scrawled labels on them, and I'm not convinced they were even on the right beers. My pint of Deuchars IPA tasted weird and lemony, and on returning it, the barman admitted he didn't really have a clue about the beers.

It's probably safer to stick to bottles. Or another pub.

Usually a warmer reception here than at the Defector's Weld across the road, and a much better choice of real ale too.
rpadam - 10 Dec 2006 15:40
Unbelievably rude and inattentive bar staff, especially the ginger bloke and the hefty bird, arguably the worst I've ever seen. Would have walked out but it took so long to convince the doorman (wrongly) that we were QPR supporters we couldn't be bothered to leave.

A real surprise; looks exactly like you'd expect, but very friendly with a good customer mix and very decent pint on one of those Archer's seasonals. Passed a good hour here before the Icicle Works gig.
mtaylor40 - 29 Oct 2006 18:22
Contrary to what the last poster says, when I was in here I found it to be nothing if not "chavvy".
anonymous - 19 May 2006 13:28
Very nice bar. Good clientele, no chavs and good mixture of boys and girls,

Decent number of t.v.'s to watch any sporting events too.
Normal_seasoned_drinker - 19 May 2006 13:23
The staff here are exceptionally nice- Look out for the ginger haired man who always serves pints with a smile, no matter what ethin group you are from, depending, of course, on whom he deserves to hate that particular day! Figure it out for yourselves!
savasthi - 8 Apr 2006 21:25
Went to this relaxed bar on Friday night. It was a pleasure to sit and relax in such a friendly and easy going enviornment. Will be back for sure.
zoe901 - 27 Mar 2006 23:27
Went there while on the way to Loftus Road. Nice pub, with a decent ale selection (the archer's PieEater I drank was particularly nice) Plenty of TV screens to watch the football on. Would visit again without hesistation.
McDrunk - 4 Mar 2006 11:48
Large interior, but still friendly. The excruciatingly thin lady at the bar knows how to jump on those who must be jumped upon.

Beware, the nearby Shepherd's Bush station closes early and the walk to the Central Line station is quite far, particularly after a 'few' jars!
mikem - 16 Nov 2005 12:23
Can get busy if QPR are playing or there is a concert at the nearby Shepherds Bush Empire. There is a downstairs bar / function room which holds about 40 people. Okay for a quick beer, but I wouldn't stay here for the whole evening.
snowdog2112 - 5 Feb 2005 10:51
A very good pub indeed to chill out or watch the footy when its on with great food on offer. Some of the draught lager is a tad expensive though and the banter at the bar can be a bit crude to say the least. All in all one of the better bars if not the best around the Green!
Lagertop - 30 Dec 2004 19:46
The food at this place is great!

There is no place better for a Sunday lunch with a pint of coke and of course the can't be done without curly fries.

oh bring on next sunday!
Alana - 21 Sep 2004 19:20
I time for the new season, this pub has gone QPR-loopy, with loads of blue and white posters and shirts everywhere. Which makes it the best pub in the universe. Well, not really, but as everyone says it's one of the better ones the Bush can offer. The ales are indeed superb, but there's just something a bit artifical about the place. It's like a posh weatherspoons or something. Needs a bit of seediness perhaps.
travis - 3 Sep 2004 11:14
this pub has a great choice of real ales. and a very good selection of bar food. with its big screens and other small tv's its a great place to go and watch your football team with mates.
dave mason - 30 Aug 2004 18:43
this pub has a great selection of real ales. very good bar menu . and its also got a big screen and lots of smaller tv's to watch all the football.
it is also a big queens park rangers pub on match days, only allowing home supporters in. great for the kids
dave mason - 30 Aug 2004 18:36
lovely pub, good screens for the footie, good beers, friendly staff, lots of seating downstairs, one of the better pubs in the bush - and an antidote to edwards/walkabout/etc.
JT - 10 Aug 2004 13:46
I take my hat off to the current manager - for those of us with tastebuds and unconvinced of the need to drink "lifestyle" lagers, they often have a changing variety of good real ales. It's a pretty reasonable pub - especially for the Bush - and makes Edwards (no real beer) opposite look a complete waste of space. P.S; I am under 150 and don't have a beard.
Ali - 14 Jul 2003 16:10
Good pub. Good Staff. Shows the footie on a big screen, good deals on drinks as well as a dartboard and pool table. Is there anything else in life?
Jimmy - 23 Apr 2003 13:40
the green is a cracking local, good mix of dodgy types and bbc staff from white city. pool table, table football, tv - the best pub in shepards bush.
aramadam motors - 3 Dec 2002 12:22
After closing for some time for refurbishment this pub reopened with a new coat of paint on the outside. The interior has not changed or been cleaned since 1974.
