Re-opened last summer as the Queen's Head and now Davenports-owned. I tried the IPA and Original Bitter; both were exceptionally average but at least the cost of a pint was around £3.50.

The "Gin and Cocktails" theme now seems a little outdated to me but the Friday 4pm brigade was arriving in full force as I drank my swift pint of excellent £4.25 Titanic Plum Porter. Two offerings from Purity also on sale.

I really enjoy going in The Jeckyl and Hyde because its an hip place to drink . Absolutely the Gin capital of the Midlands any Gin Fan I send there cant believe that its so well stocked and even on a Cold Wednesday Afternoon we found the bar staff well versed in the opportunities . Cocktails are imaginative and plenty of Trendy music after 5 on the weekend . Can be crowded with the latest trend setters after 8..........
Ok whats in it for the Real Ale Scene .. Couple of good Guest Beers - Purity Mad Goose and Thornbridge Jaipur have been spotted and the food is pretty good as well
So in conclusion interested well run and lively - not everybodys bag but it is what it is .... worth a visit on any account

Would say that the bar staff need to get their finger out a bit, too chummy with regulars serving wise so can take an age to get a drink, it`s a good pub but waiting time seems like a lifetime!

Great alternative type boozer tucked away down the bottom end of steel house lane. They have a good philosophy of keeping ales on tap while mixing it up with offerings of cocktails and a gin parlour upstairs. Its quite small inside but there is a great section out the back where you can enjoy a drink or have a smoke. To top it off the interior is littered with crazy artwork throughout. Definitely worth a look!

Dropped in here on the way home from work a couple of times , It has connection with the much revitalised Victoria behind the Alexandra Theatre - so I had high hopes. Normally they have three ales on - Hook Norton being on top form , but the most recent visit only mad goose and very average. The pub is however , clean , comfortable and friendly - so there is hope. It has another bar upstairs and has lots of unusual stuff going on so I will give it another go - hopefully there will be more choice of Ale next time !!

Nice friendly place, greeted as we walked in. A very decent pint of Purity "Mad Goose" was quaffed in the small beer patio area at the rear, 7/10

Strange place. very friendly staff, my mate says the cocktails and wine are good. my experience of the draught beer leads me to choose the bottled stuff. Last time i went they gave me a glass with ice with my beer........

Yeah seems to be a pub that`s trying to be something a bit different, not quite sure what though! It`s a bit of a mish mash really, narrow comfy lounge type bar, and a mini Costas like area at the back which would probably appeal to reclusive Goths! on the night the bar staff were pretty friendly, flinging cocktail shakers about (It`s a theme night!) some blokes with a couple of decks playing obscure early soul music (not bad at all actually) and yes females...though they seemed happy in aech others company....they`ve got some bizarre burger night coming up and......you get the drift. Worth a visit so you can make your own mind up!

Now for something a little more constructive.....the pub has 3 cask ales available incl. Purity Mad Goose, Hook Norton bitter and Wye Valley HPA. This contrasts to the the Brew XI that the QH used to offer! Decor wise it's a damn sight cleaner than previous and the pictures and colour scheme are interesting. It now appears to have a fair selection of female clientele which is another development on how it used to be. I'd say keep an open mind for a pub which is at least trying, and how many can even say that these days??

Eager to be added to the list of smart Urban bars pimpling the city centre, but is narrow, cramped, offering nothing special in the way of real ales. Also off putting were the staff's cronies sat in an exclusive huddle around the bar meaning anyone else wanting to be served had to linger on the edges, hoping to be noticed. Put stools in front of a bar and I'll show you punters bristling with frustration in trying to get served. Still I wish them well, but this bar is not for me which may be recommendation enough for some BITE - ers.
