Re-opened last summer as the Queen's Head and now Davenports-owned. I tried the IPA and Original Bitter; both were exceptionally average but at least the cost of a pint was around £3.50. paul_d102 - 20 Feb 2023 13:56 |
The "Gin and Cocktails" theme now seems a little outdated to me but the Friday 4pm brigade was arriving in full force as I drank my swift pint of excellent £4.25 Titanic Plum Porter. Two offerings from Purity also on sale. paul_d102 - 15 Feb 2020 09:40 |
I really enjoy going in The Jeckyl and Hyde because its an hip place to drink . Absolutely the Gin capital of the Midlands any Gin Fan I send there cant believe that its so well stocked and even on a Cold Wednesday Afternoon we found the bar staff well versed in the opportunities . Cocktails are imaginative and plenty of Trendy music after 5 on the weekend . Can be crowded with the latest trend setters after 8.......... Ok whats in it for the Real Ale Scene .. Couple of good Guest Beers - Purity Mad Goose and Thornbridge Jaipur have been spotted and the food is pretty good as well So in conclusion interested well run and lively - not everybodys bag but it is what it is .... worth a visit on any account Biffabacon - 15 Jul 2014 20:27 |
Would say that the bar staff need to get their finger out a bit, too chummy with regulars serving wise so can take an age to get a drink, it`s a good pub but waiting time seems like a lifetime! Blastbeat - 12 Jun 2014 10:32 |
Great alternative type boozer tucked away down the bottom end of steel house lane. They have a good philosophy of keeping ales on tap while mixing it up with offerings of cocktails and a gin parlour upstairs. Its quite small inside but there is a great section out the back where you can enjoy a drink or have a smoke. To top it off the interior is littered with crazy artwork throughout. Definitely worth a look! yamyampublover - 28 Apr 2013 20:08 |
