The barmaid was pretty and friendly but the landlord ignored me.The pub hasn't changed since my last post, still full of the lowest form of humans drinking their lives away. That said the beer was OK and no one was unfriendly, OK for a quick pint but don't expect any thrills in here.

A pub for serious drinkers. Nice enough space but lets face it, it's a hardcore boozing pub for day drinking.

BITCHY!!!!!!

Scum! Scum! lost your sense of humanity (and humour) Jim?
|
The real JIM BAXTER WAS A SUBLIME FOOTBALLER. You sadly my dear fellow are a Didier Deschamps- a mere water carrier! Perhaps you should stick to the off licence, oddbins perhaps.

Salmon and Ball, Prince Edward and Black Prince gastropubs?
Don't confuse the proletariat with sc*m. Twit.

Dear oh dear Jim Baxter, you must be a very confident upwardly mobile young metrosexual to make such moralistic and damming statements. I've been in this pub several times and all i can say is that it is a friendly working class pub with cheap beer. get back to your gastropub were you belong!

This is a top notch boozer; chirpy barmaids that greet you with a "Ello my darling," lots of TV's showing sports and rock bottom prices. What more could you ask for?
|
Helen barred you then Jim???
To find the people you refer to try the Holloway.

Cannot believe the threads here. This place is a virus where the dregs of society congregate. The professionally unemployed and scum of the day fresh off the abomination that is Seven Sisters Road.
Walk by here regularly and often see the punters heading back home hoping that most of them don't have kids to continue the cycle.

I was in there yesterday and its still the same pub with no airs and graces.Loved it,and the prices are cheap too.Rating 7

This is a proper pub, full of real people, noisy, bit drab, lots of telly's with the racing on, irish, market crowd, cold beer.. I love it.
|
This is a locals pub serving up standard draught products to a mostly aged Irish clientele. In the bar area at the front there is a projector screen up on the wall which was showing the stereotypical horse racing on Sky. I did notice the bar area at the very front of the pub was section off from the main bar by a couple of original screens that must date back a while. There is also a large sparsely decorated extension at the back of the pub which houses a TV, pool table and a pinball machine.
My pint of Guinness was on good form and the barmen were polite enough, but I couldnt really get settled in here and I dont plan on returning.

In desperate need of refreshment I ventured forth, only to be very warmly greeted by the landlord who them served me a very cheap pint of lager. I talked with one of the locals and left, the landlord hailing 'see you soon' behind me. Genuine, friendly local pub for local people.
|
A lovley lively local pub full of market traders from the nags head market. donwsides service can be very slow as the staff seem overworked and only guiness and lager on offer though at decent prices
|
What a dump. I was in there for 45 minutes - which was 45 minuted too long. Never had so many dodgy looks from people waiting to kick someones head in.
|
A bit of a rough-house. I was here for about an hour and heard more expletives from locals in that hour than I think I've ever heard in an hour before. Not sure if it's still a Mr Q's, but there's a large pool area out the back of the pub. I couldn't spot any ales on hand-pump.
|
I assume that if you are local and have nothing better to do with your day, you'd probably quite enjoy hanging out here. The pint of Tetley I had was well-poured but I only bothered staying for one as nothing about the place made me want to stay for longer than that.

this pub is good especially when there is a party in there.
|
This pub is featured heavily in a book titled "Goodnight Amy" by Victor Pemberton.Went in here one weekday a couple of years ago.Not exactly full of yuppies but had no hassle from the characters who seemed to freqent the place during every open hour.
