i have to agree with the last comment, with modern deliveries, fresh seafood is always available. the food is basic pub grub.

What a ridiculous review below.............being about 12 miles from the coast of course it is possible to have a seafood deliver everyday..............I chef in central London and we manage so I am certain they can!!! On the pub front this is a pleasant pub with well kept beer....but the main selling point is it is open all day!!! Very handy as two nearby pubs close in the afternoon so after work, or on split shifts, you can have a pint in the garden.

i recently visited with friends to this public house on a lovely sunny tuesday and was highly disapointed with the food and the staff and how can you serve fresh crab everyday????? must be frozen so the advert is very misleading not good practice will not return which is a shame as we visit lots of pubs in the area often barring this one from now on.

I'M MISSING MY LOCAL..... I haven't been here for a few months as I now spend most of my time in Hampshire. Always loved the place, the quirky locals, the good food and the characters behind the bar all give it an unforgettable ambience! What a pleasure to pop in and find it even better. Lots has changed, the cooks, the menu, the bar manager, but all the old faces were still there putting the world to rights and the Harveys is as good as ever. Knocks spots of my Hampshire local. Mustn't leave it so long next time!

On my occasional visits while travelling on the A272 I have found this pub has that elusive quality that makes it a pleasant place to be. It still feels like a pub, and it feels as if someone cares whether you are comfortable there. Recommended.

Decent pub but on an early Saturday evening you may find some of the locals have been in a while and want to be your best mate and engage you in banter. This may or may not be your cup of tea. Good beer well priced by local exorbitant standards.

I've recently visited the Selsey a few times, as friends live nearby. A very pleasant pub, surprisingly peaceful, given its location at a crossroads on the A272. Friendly staff, interesting locals, most of whom don't bite. Currently well kept Flowers IPA and Gales HSB on tap. Good food and generous portions. A good old local pub, not trying too much to be a restaurant. If only I lived within walking distance. PS - This is the first pub I've rated, so take the score with a pinch of salt.
