Drove past this week and it is up for sale as a B&B, not as a pub. Still boarded up, though.

Sudden closure and boarded up.
Any news on this?
With all the positive comments about this pub it seems a little strange.

Drove past on Sunday. Closed and covered in metal shutters. That was very sudden. Also sad, as I used to have Sunday lunch there from time to time.

Visited this week - excellent range of well kept real ales (London Pride, Doombar, Butcombe and Adnams Ghostship). Good food prepared to order - and you can also meet Milly the pub donkey!

A rambling country pub on the edge of the village. Warm welcome and efficient service, a good range of well-kept beers (I was on Butcombe Bitter) and decent pub grub at reasonable prices. Above average.

A centuries old pub, quite rambling, serving an excellent pint of Butcombes Bitter, plus two others I didn't try. Friendly and helpful service, the soup I had was excellent!
