Has been refurbished and has reverted to its old name - the Three Tuns.

Found a proper pub in the city today called Hennesseys, located in Jewry Street. The food was great the staff were effecient and friendly a great atmosphere,I will certainly be using this pub again.

Went there purely because of its Jack The Ripper connection - just across the street from one of the murder sites in Mitre Square - a lot of history here - but unfortunately rather bland.........upstairs is like someones front room - no soul. Oh well.

I agree with MW81. This place looks very inviting; sadly it is just the outside that lives up to that. The ale was bordering undrinkable and the staff attitude awful. The Boutique comment below I think can only be a description of its size, it has nothing else boutique about it. Dire, is the word Id use.

This could be so much better. It seems to wander along thinking it has a right to take money for being there. It is a lovely building, inside and out, with the exception of the gents. The owner seems to have spent money on the fixtures, sadly, the same cannot be said of the staff, who are worse than useless if your face isnt known. There again, given the way they kept their beer, I guess they have nothing to be proud of. Bordering on the worst pub in the area and given the amount of bad places we visited, thats saying something!

Boutique pub that is for businessmen in ties. If this is you then you'll enjoy it otherwise you may feel out of place.
Full of suits munching roast beef sandwiches. Interesting history. Roof garden great when the weather is warm.

Situated down a side road just off Fenchurch Street is Hennessys. A scruffy and bustling pub on my recent visit, I enjoyed my time spent within. The main bar area is basic with a few pictures, a plasma screen and a fruit machine being amongst the few objects to catch my attention. To the rear of the pub is a small beer patio to keep the smoking mob happy and just before you exit here, there is a narrow staircase leading on to a second bar area. The bar itself was not in operation when I had a peek, though the group of suits sat around seemed suitably entertained nevertheless. Here also lacked the ragged charm of downstairs, with a more modern approach being quite evident. On the beer front, it was pleasing to see a couple of ales vying for my attention: Sharps Doom Bar and London Pride. The condition of the former was acceptable, though prices are not cheap. The staff were attentive enough and the music aired at a reasonable volume. To conclude: An okay pub worthy of a look.

Pretty dirty venue with moody staff. But mostly I didn't like the face that they ripped off my friend who hired the venue. He had agreed that if we spent a certain amount of money over the bar to get free BBQ. At the end of the night when we had spent twice the amount required they presented him with a very big bill for food and claimed to have never made the free food promise. When my friend tried to argue his case they threatend calling the police. Happy birthday yeah, cheers.... Dont go!

This place must be under new management or something, it done nothing to impress me. A lovely place, the beer was OK, the staff pleasant enough, but there was something missing. I suspect the noisy old soak at the bar was the new manager, but hope for the sake of the pub I was wrong.

Great pub. Went in a Friday night when it was quite busy but the barman, who was already serving someone, took notice and asked what drinks I would like. He then served me immediately after and, because it was Guinness, he brought them over to us. Friendly atmosphere, excellent beer.

Nice Irish theme pub. Well run serving London Pride and a nice pint of Guiness. Usual suited clientele but unlike some of the small pubs in the area woman don't feel out of place. Restaurant upstairs.

Great atmosphere - owner is brilliant. Fabulous gargantuan barbecue food and a wonderfully relaxing roof garden towering above the city fumes. Lovely place to get away from it all in your lunchbreak.
Keith's comment on 'mental views' needs to be regarded as sarcasm though!

Beats the "corporate" chains any day. Many a piss-up has been had in this establishment, and many a good laff. The owner is brilliant, and the staff are really friendly. Good range of bottles, and beers, and there is summat for everyone. Definitely worth a visit. Oh, and check out the roof garden in the summer - mental views.
