Blue - this pub closed about 2.5 years ago.
Why tell us what has been posted before, 2.5 years later?

Definitely still closed.
Closed and converted into a shop. A real loss because it offered something different to the usual tourist pubs in the town.
Still a decent selection of Skinners and Sharps beers. Live music regularly on the menu and tends to miss out on a lot of the alco-pop crowd. well worth a look
Not quite as real ale-focused as in the Skinner's days but still a reasonable range and quality.
Newquay is full of bars with silly names so it was with some concern that I walked into this old favourite.
The handpulls had disappeared from the end of the bar causing an initial panic. Fortunately they have only been moved around the corner. Skinner's Betty Stoggs and Cornish Knocker and Sharp's Doombar were available. The Skinner's beers were in top notch condition.
The bar is now decorated with mid twentieth century posters and has been spruced up. The toilets have not improved.
The three guys behind the bar are friendly and together with some excellent live music, this bar is back on form.

Now called Leadbellys and not as real-ale-tastic. BAH!
Pub is up for sale apparently, fingers crossed it will reopen as a pub. Skinners Brewery sold the place a few years back and it was a free house for a couple of years (still stocking Skinners). Anyone local have any news?
Shame. It was a great pub with great beer
Was closed in late-June 07, sadly I think it has gone for good. Money from the sale to be ploughed back into the brewery according to Cornwall Camra.
One of the last of a dying breed of authentic pubs in Newquay.

Lots of real ales, quite small but quite charasmatic.
This is easily my favorite pub in Newquay, my local when there. They have great local ales--real ales--on tap with a nice selection of seasonal offerings. Their selection of lagers and ciders are quite good as are their spirits. The food is excellent (bravo, Nick), the owners and staff very friendly, and the regular customers are quite welcoming. This is not a place for hooligans, but it is a realxing second home.

Small but a 'proper pub' Try the Cider Ratlers! Cloudy rocket fuel :-)

My kind of pub. Good real ale, friendly service, very fine jazz on the night I visited.
Everything I like in a pub, beer, music and occasionally food. Great atmosphere, genial host and tasty hostess (when she puts her uniform on!)
A Pub that has great potential being the only Skinners Brwery Pub. However, beer was expensive and not as well kept as on previous visits. Excellent selection inclusing Ice Blonde, Cornish Knocker and ?Betty Stogs. Staff very friendly

Served good real ale, live music on Saturdays (although it was ear-bleedingly loud), a bit grubby, but strikes me as being a really friendly place.

Real ale bar. Live music 5 nights a week. Quiz night on Wednesday. Friendly, traditional pub.
