Don't be decieved by the exterior of this place as one inside it's a chilled out haven to wind down with some wine, chill with friends and enjoy some good food. I was in the area recently with some friends and we fancied a quick bite to eat. I'd highly reccomend the burgers they were amazing, really good portion sizes and my friends roast looked mouth watering and was very well recieved by her. Whatsmore service was friendly and efficient. It's a shame it was quite quiet but well definately be back again!

Has re-opened as Sammy's. I feel a bit sorry for this place, the owner has obviously invested a fair bit since it opened as The Oak and then re-opened as Sammy's. The food is good when I've eaten here before but the place just lacks atmosphere. The restaurant downstairs is now a function room and the fish are long gone out of the expensive looking fish tank.

Really like the new decor and comfortable atmosphere within the newly named Sammy's! Been back with various family members for a bite to eat in the evening as well as Sunday dinner. Their tapa's style dishes provided a delicious well needed snack for me and the kids, and the sunday roast did not fail to live upto expectations with some delicious new cheesecakes added to the menu. There seems to be more customers than ever before and a real buzz about the place that wasn't apparent in the oak! A must visit for everyone in the area, especially for the roast! Certainly the best in teddington!

I have every sympathy with the Oak neighbours, I once bought a flat above a fish & chip shop, every evening people queued up outside to buy fish & chips and often I could smell fish & chips from the fish & chip shop. If I'd have known things like this could have happend I would have never bought a flat above a fish & chip shop.....Miss Nin B.

The Oak has now closed - not that it was ever open very often before. It plans to reopen as Sammys, but no-one knows if this will be a pub, restaurant or nightclub.
Once again the owner is at odds with the local residents over planning proposals - maybe this is why the locals never used the pub.

Not sure if it's changed hands in the last year or so but I remember when it first opened after the rebuilding it had a very arrogant owner/manager who used to seat himself and his cronies on the largest table in the place and sneer at everyone.

Now it's much friendlier and the owner/manager really makes a huge effort. The bar staff are good as well. Great wine. It's a pity it's always so quiet, we've tried it a few times recently on Saturday nights and it's been almost empty on all occasions. What a shame.

This is really a restaurant nice owner just a shame the place is never open. Wine is very very good best in Teddington the beer Fuller's Pride husband's verdict very very average poor. This could be the best place in the High Street just needs more customers.

This is an excellent pub and restaurant. They serve the best Sunday roast me and my wife ever had! And we've had a plenty.
The owner and staff are super friendly and nice, and as someone else mentioned - they stock Twickenham ales.

This is really a restaurant/bar as it is only open evenings during the week. We had Sunday lunch and the food really was amazing. Two courses for 11.95 so not the cheapest, but I thought it was well worth it. The beer is very well kept and they stock Twickenham ales which is a bonus. The wine is quite expensive, but they had some interesting stuff. This is definitely an occasion pub, but the owner is a terrific guy so I hope it does well.

EMPTY.
Stark - they wanted a minimalist look - they have certainly achieved that with no customers!

Very poor customer service. Tried to hire out the "function room" as was advertised on a billboard outside the pub for my family get together. Once a deposit had been paid all of a sudden the function room was a "restaurant" and 4 days before the event was told that unless we have food it would be cancelled. Was not willing to pay 4.50 for one cheese and tomato sandwich. Beautiful surroundings, hoever if you are looking for a good frienly family get together would advise you to look elsewhere.
