Busy, friendly pub. Four ales on from Stewart and Broughton.

The Bridge Inn, at one end of town on the River Tweed, is probably the beer pub in town. There were 4 handpumps, two of which were Stewart Brewery beers (IPA and a darker beer), Hadrian & Border's Byker Light and one other I can't remember. It's a friendly bar with sociable staff and I'd recommend it for a few jars.

Best pub in Peebles, with a great view from the pleasant terrace overlooking the River Tweed. Good range of four Scottish real ales, including a decent Pentland IPA. Also renowned for the fabulous original Twyford Adamant urinals in the gents!

Enjoyed the Taylor Landlord in this Good Beer Guide pub. It was the only real ale on from the 4 pumps there, but maybe that is usual for a Tuesday if it is not busy midweek. Quiet at lunchtime.

Agree with the positive comments, one of the few pubs in this area which is worth a second visit. beer is well kept, and the atmosphere is friendly, if quiet when we were in

Update (My last comments are way out of date !) Greta to see the pub getting better and better. It has won Camra awards in recent year as pub of the year etc. The beers (up to 4 on pull )are an interesting range of Scottish micro-brewed. Tam the landlord loves his beers ! There is now a well-though out smoking section around the back. Now in my opinion one of, if not THE, top pub in the borders. Next to the church at the end of the town.

where else would you find a pub where "mine host" is lager than life itself , the barman plays in the local silver band the assistant manager grows the wonderful flower baskets and thats before you have a drink Its a must when visiting peebles

bloody awful. crap beer and it was like sitting in someone's front room. boy, did we feel english in there.

Very good public house and a rarity in the scottish borders. Real ale and plenty of single malts on offer. Deuchars IPA. Very efficient and knowledgable bar staff. Given that there is hardly a decent pub in this entire area of scotland this pub is remarkable. NEDRAD approved.

Also known locally as the Trust. Popular one room local. Either Deuchars IPA or Caledonian 80 shillings on tap. Good prices. Ideal for a 4-pub crawl of Peebles real ale outlets. Check out the porcelain in the mens toilet !
