The Fox & Hounds was our first stop on a visit to Croxley Green today. We decided to skip the Red House, another Greene King nearer the station to make this Greene King our first hostelry. 3 real ales were on. Greene King Abbot is a regular. The two guests were New River London Tap & Blind Poet. We tried one of each and both were on decent form. With a CAMRA discount given, they were even more palatable. With plenty of flags for each country playing in the Six Nations, there is clearly an emphasis on sports TV. Decent start to our crawl. We moved on from here to the Croxley Guild of Sport & Social Club (not listed on BITE).

I'm a bar maid so I will admit I am critical of other bar maids but there is a serious issue when you ask to have your drink topped up because it hasn't been served correctly and they say they'll have to charge you. For someone who comes here often I'm not impressed! This has happened far too often now!

Getting 95% of a pint from a greedy king pub is pretty good in my experience, which is why I don't drink in their pubs anymore

I used to really like this pub. It was a proper local, community pub. However the new management team seem to be missing the point entirely. The new couple only seem willing to tow the company line and REFUSE to sell a full pint. Insisting that 95% liquid is all that you're entitled to. Well, fair enough I suppose, that is what Green King expect of their managers. But I have now been excluded just for asking for my pint to be topped up.

I think the fox is great for a laugh. It also hosts the best pub quiz I have ever been too. Thursday night around 9 , never had so much fun. If you havent been beleive me its worth a gander. In my personal opinion by far the best pub in croxley.

Review made on the 7may-obviously a barred customer with a grudge-this is the best pub in croxley by far!

Beer usually well kept. Can get v busy when footie is on the TV. Good atmosphere.

Full of trash. Bad management in evidence. Staff do not have a clue. Clear evidance of drug abuse
|
A bit out of the way but pleasant enough, and with some friendly characters who seem eager for a chat if you're not a local. Not a sniff of trouble and plenty of TVs for the football.

wonderful. Varies between reassuringly slow and ordinary, and at aother times a bit mad and lively, in a friendly semi-rural sort of way. Friendly staff and management, friendly locals...I visit about every 3 months and always feel welcome, usually end up having a good natter and drink up with total stranger....Just round corner from Met line station so easy access from london or (as with me) harrow.
Good out of town venue for that illicit liaison ;-)
