Due to re-open soon. In its heyday it was a great little pub but typical pubco neglect put paid to that. I do hope they don't ruin it.

This pub is closed down and boarded up, don't waste your time driving here. I believe the landlord is now at the blue ball at Ashridge

Was passing yesterday... pub now closed and boarded up.

Went here for lunch. Really good to see and be recognized by the landlord previously at the Rose and Crown Hawridge. Cold wet and misty wednesday so the pub was quiet. The beer was first class,Rebellion smuggler, and 2 beers from Tring brewery all very tasty. Small lunchtime menu, but the food was well presented very good and very filling - as were the puds. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

Well, it seems the other peeps have moved on... To the popular pub called The White Lion in St. Leonards! Have been back to the Bull since their departure from here & the beer/lager is GREAT!! & they have it in stock!! Can't comment about the food as we've not eaten, but very soon we will & then I'll let you know all!! Much better now, here's waiting for the summer when there'll be lots of peeps & their kids in the garden. Bravo for making a once popular pub that went to rubbish in no time, now into an up-coming pub again!! YIPPEE!!

Awful lager & beer, had a real bad gut after drinking there on our way through. I think maybe the lines aren't cleaned regular, lager tasted very odd, it really wasn't drinkable. Not sure about the food situation, we've never eaten there although have been there a few times in recent years & have seen the odd person eating. Seems the 'old' landlord has moved on to another local pub & has apparently taken his regulars with him. Won't be visiting there again in a hurry.

Popped back for another couple of beers. Friendly welcome and remembered from last time, but pub no busier during our early evening visit. Had a bite to eat this time... well cooked and reasonable price. Good value 'Credit Crunch' promotion just started recently, so hope that works.

This is everyone's idea of the archetypal old country pub in an idyllic 'Midsomer' rural location. Low ceilings, beams, comfortable lounge bar, beer garden with good, well-kept ales. And for anyone interested, dog-friendly. Made very welcome on our sunny, 'early doors' Tue evening visit, but no-one else in pub..! Suspect that there's work to do in building up the trade, 'cos only three other customers came in during our hour & a half there, but with the approach we experienced, it's very likely business will look up from here. Recently taken over by a couple who were successful in a well-known Cookham pub, the 'Swan Uppers'. Standard sort of menu at present, but plans are afoot to improve that, they say. Will be interested to see what things are like in a couple months or so, so will revisit.
