The Friars is tucked away up an alleyway. Most people were either crowded at one end watching the start of the FA Cup final, or were outside in the alleyway/courtyard. So, we had the other end of the pub to ourselves. Wye Valley HPA & Banks's Sunbeam are the regular ales. Guests were Thwaite's Wainwright & Jenning's Cocker Hoop.

Enloyed a visit to this nice backstreet pub recently with a large party. The pub is basic and a definite case of you get what it says on the tin - friendly locals , a couple of well kept trad beers and reasonably priced pub grub. The landlady is new to the pub but very keen and I think the pub will be definately be one to watch in future. 7 out of 10 - because if you sit near the big TV you can smell the bogs !!

A very nice pub, a bit expensive but very good quality beers.

Narrow and long pub, with, as Carlurmston says, has several partitions to create near rooms, with a strange mix of piano, Carlos Tevez photo, sofas, tables and stools. All was clean and the service and the food were fine.

Beerwise, Salopian Shropshire Gold and a couple of Old Pardoes made me feel at home a bit; Entire and Original. Both were fine.

A staple kind of place. I liked it and would go back, its just Padoe's beers are local to me and Dark Swan and Bumblehole are better.

I visited last Saturday.Three pumps on.A bitter from Salopian plus 2 milds!!!

I had a pint of Holden's mild with an excellent gammon and chips lunch, then followed through with a pint of Pardoe's original,a light coloured mild.Apparently the Pardoes is now a regular feature and the cask was changed whilst I was there.

Decent place which is cosy, with a low ceiling and lots of bric-a-brac, yet has modern furnishings such as the leather sofas. It's a long, narrow pub with part-partitions which add to the intimacy. 4 local real ales available, served with a smile. Seems to attract a younger crowd and has quite loud piped music, didn't particularly put me off but it might some. Also a huge dog! Not a bad place at all.

4 real ales on in early May, Wye Valley HPA, Pardoes Original and Entire, and Ludlow Best. Friendly barmaid and most locals apart from one who seriously p*ssed my partner off when she was outside having a fag. As we were on holiday we wern't interested in hearing somebody slagging the place off to the point of slander so we quickly left. Shame.

I have to say I didn't enjoy my visit here. The place looked a little unkempt and there was only one ale on; Ludlow Gold which was barely adequate. I'm surprised this place is in the GBG.

Walking into this alleyway pub is like walking into someone's front room. Very homely. Long thin pub with a small restaurant area at one end. Loads of bric-a-brac around the walls, ledges and tables. Bar has 4 handpumps but only two were on, Ludlow Gold and Pardoe's Original. Had a pint of the Original which was pretty good. Got talking to the barmaid and her friend who were both pleasantly chatty. Very quiet but seems friendly enough. Not bad at all.
