Closed in 2011. After several months empty has reopened as The Goudhurst Inn, which calls itself a "gastropub".

Visited this pub last summer with my wife and we had a wonderful time, great food and great service.
We returned last week.. what has happened to this once lovely pub?
Service very very bad, Very rude staff, food very very bad (apparently the chef was on holiday), very restricted menu, one out of four ales was on. We were not suprised that no one was eating at 8 o`clock on a friday night, in fact there was no one in the pub at all.
We decided not to eat and went to The Green Cross Inn down the road which was fantastic, highly recomended.
We will not be coming back here. Avoid at all costs

Visited this pub a week ago for their Sunday carvery. Haven't been in a while or since the new owners took over. It was excellent. As well as carvery there was a small alternative menu , one of which was sampled by one of our group; who reported it excellent (beautifully presented too). Choice on carvery very good; pork, beef, lamb & chicken with a great selection of vegetables and magnificent yorkshire puddings. Would definitely go back.

Really bad, food has no taste or imagenation, service is unattentive and rude carefree as in free of care.

Improved, inasmuch as it is now more of a gastropub than the dive it was a few years ago. Great views across the Weald from the terrace, but a rather indifferent pint of Harveys.
