The Chequers Inn, Goudhurst

Visited this pub a week ago for their Sunday carvery. Haven't been in a while or since the new owners took over. It was excellent. As well as carvery there was a small alternative menu , one of which was sampled by one of our group; who reported it excellent (beautifully presented too). Choice on carvery very good; pork, beef, lamb & chicken with a great selection of vegetables and magnificent yorkshire puddings. Would definitely go back.

The White Lion Hotel, Great Longstone

Had lunch at this pub whilst visiting the Peak District last week and it was excellent. The welcome was warm and friendly, food was excellent and beautifully presented. Definitely recommend it. It has been newly refurbished and looks great too. A trip up the road to see the view at Monsal Head is wonderful too....

The Ship Inn, Rye

In Rye on Tuesday and looking for somewhere to lunch, didn't look at any reviews previously and happened upon this pub, liked look of it and went in. we weren't disappointed. Can't comment on beer or anything as I was driving but had a very enjoyable lunch there. Small but interesting menu. Had chicken broth, friend had some kind of sweet potato salad and fries. All very nice. Very friendly service. Nice atmosphere. reasonably priced. would recommend and go again if in the area.
