Very Rude Landlord - Stay Away from the Old Shepherd in Chorleywood. When I asked whether they are still serving food. the landlord just said 'No Food'. I asked has the kitchen just closed because the website says that they do food at this time. The Landlord again said slower NO FOOD. After a few more sarcastic and rude comments from the aggressive landlord we left and I strongly advise you to avoid the Old Shepherd near Chorleywood station.

The reviews of this pub are very outdated....
Yes ... This pub ( like all pubs) has had its ups and downs.. But right now it's on the up .... Thanks to the new landlord.. Yes ... In the past it had a few lows but even then I was never as lucky as Lucywillow... In all the times I walked past I was never ogled at by white van man (or any colour come to that)..
Maybe I don't have the same appeal.. But I digress... As I said this pub is on the up! The food is fantastic ! Forget your brake Bros frozen preprepared meals.. The food here is fresh and you can tell the difference. A great selection of well kept real ales and premium lagers and all at realistic Prices....
So don't be put off by old outdated reviews! See for yourself.

It's okay. Has a pool table. Ale was passable. They have extended it from when I was last here (some 20 odd years ago) and it seemed a bit further from the station than I thought. Average kind of pub though I suppose it still is a pub.

on the edge of chorleywood. but I havent dared try it. great if you like a fight.. or to be ogled by drunken white van men, or boy racers. check the vehicles in the car park. always noisy., always full of the wrong sort of people.. even walking past it is a trial a sad thing, as it is a nice building, yet chorleywoods rougher types seem to hang out here..when they are not in the land of liberty up the road

On the edge of Chorleywood Common, a short walk from the station. South facing beer garden with pleasant views of the village. Friendly landlord. Pool table and darts. Green King IPA on offer and not much else. Serve food but haven't dared to try it. Welcomes children. I've stopped by a few times after a walk on the common.
