The Folly, Napton on the Hil

June 2013. Visited the Folly whilst on a weekend's narrow boat holiday down the Oxford Canal.
Arrived too late for food (their kitchen closes at 9pm), although what was on others plates looked delicious. The staff were great, they gave us the number of a chinese restaurant that would deliver to the pub. They cleared a table for us and supplied plates and cutlery too. Couldn't have been more helpful.
Pub itself is characterful (as is the landlord), great location and not overly busy for a weekend.
Nice beer garden, right by the canal. Would happily go again when next in the area.
Hooky on tap was good.

The Old Shepherd, Rickmansworth

On the edge of Chorleywood Common, a short walk from the station.
South facing beer garden with pleasant views of the village.
Friendly landlord. Pool table and darts.
Green King IPA on offer and not much else.
Serve food but haven't dared to try it.
Welcomes children. I've stopped by a few times after a walk on the common.
