CLOSED - possibly permanently and rumoured to be converted to flats. Damn I missed a visit to a new pub by a month.

I was in the area for a work thing so brought a few colleagues here at 10pm on a Wednesday evening for a couple of drinks.

My first visit here since June 2014 and before that I hadn’t been for a long time.

3 ales on the taps, my choice of Andwell Brewing Co’s King John @ 4.2% was very drinkable.

We stayed until closing time, the pub was pretty empty on this Wednesday night but it’s a decent enough pub and the ale was good

A tiny but comfortable pub, me & a few others enjoying the ambience. Not for long however, a multi national selfie stick wielding mob swarmed in, overwhelming the space but not it seemed the staff. Used to it I suppose. My pint of Truman Swift (£4.00) was not bad but I quickly necked it & scampered.

This is my works local, or it was till the Admiralty opened, I've always preferred The Lord Moon, and the Admiralty seems pretty good, but then again I'd rather go to St James's park with a can of Special Brew as I've never liked this pub

I worked opposite this place in the late 90's and only visited once so a return was long overdue.

Popped in on a Friday evening when the sun was shining and it was busy with an after work crowd.

Nice little traditional pub that has been modernised. 3 attentive and efficient bar staff kept the drinkers topped up.

3 ales on the hand pumps, Fullers London Pride, Timothy Taylor Landlord and Truman's Swift......I opted for the Swift, decent and very enjoyable.

Nothing remarkable decor wise but a very decent genuine London boozer....I won't leave it 18 years to I visit again.

Visited yesterday after me and some friends wanted somewhere new to try without the hassle of a usual central pub.

I had a few pints of the black stuff which were average. Not great but definitely not the worst I have had either!

Staff were quite quirky and friendly. A brilliant location tucked away just off Trafalgar Square.

Would visit again.

Nice little pub very close to Trafalgar Square. It's in a quiet street, so there's often quite a few people standing outside. There's a fairly narrow bar inside with more seating upstairs. It's quite busy and a variety of people, not just people from the nearby offices at all. Staff are OK. I've been here quite a few times and it's always pretty much like that.

London Pride and Timothy Taylor Landlord are your ales - both well kept. About 3.80 a pint. Various lagers as well. I've also had a few Jagerbombs and Tequila in here, but unsurprisingly I can't really remember what happened after that.

So if you find yourself over this part of London, then it is worth hunting it out. It's not an amazing pub, but perfectly OK. 7

Came here with a load of friends for a get-together and reserved a great space upstairs. Recommend for others for their own private parties. Oh, was also free to hire, bonus

How nice it was, yesterday, to find a proper pub that has the customer at heart. The staff were friendly, the food was absolutely superb. What a pleasurable afternoon/evening. I will certainly tell my friends of this brilliant, small and friendly pub in the centre of town.

Wow, that last comment seems quite harsh and completely at odds with my experience. Though I did not try the wines, the Timothy Taylor Landlord was superb. I sat at the bar as it was quiet and the staff seemed very friendly and chatty. They even taught me a little about whiskys! Highly recommended for those looking for a relaxing afternoon/evening away from the madness of Trafalgar Square. Enjoy

I visited this pub this week and, unfortunately, it was one of my worst experiences in years of visiting pubs. The beer was badly kept, the lager indifferent and the wine undrinkable. It came from a bottle that had obviously been open for a long time and the manager tested it by drinking out of my glass.
The staff were not interested in our complaints. This is the first time that I have ever posted a complaint, but this pub should be avoided. Go to the Albannach around the corner- what a different experience!

A lovely exterior lead into a relatively thin pub with a pleasant atmosphere. The decor was light wood giving it a bright look even though the lights were low when I went in late on a Friday night. The bar staff were friendly and very helpful. Good selection of drinks and a couple of real ales. Pride and TT Landlord are not that original a selection, but nice to see them on sale. It seemed that the local Chinese community had come in for a spot of Gambe but it only added to the charm. Well worth a vist.

Hi, I'm the landlord at "The Two Chairmen". Thanks to everyone for their comments; good and bad. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. From previous feedback, we have already changed the signs, stopped the use of change dishes (apart from when change is given as part of table service) and started selling crisps. And to clear things up, the name is back to its original of "The Two Chairmen". If you have been disappointed in the past then please pop in and let us know what you think now. Cheers, Alex

was last in this in the mid 80s when it had the look & feel of a 50s battlecruiser
back 20 yrs later and am pleased to say that they ain't changed nuffink
OK food and a grand pint of wallop,
can't fault that in this neck o' the woods
another good thing: not a septic tank in earshot; brilliant

Curious place, with the sign outside currently saying "We are open" (which to my mind make it less likely to attract passing trade than encourage it). Inside, the thin bar has been refurbished with light wood panelling and various small blackboards with what I guess are supposed to be comic musings but just seem slightly annoying. Rather spartan selection of furniture, but quite a relaxed feel with some jazzy music played at a sensible volume. Two real ales on - Pride and TT Landlord (3.30, but much better than in most London pubs and served in the right glass). Oh yes, two more annoyances - no crisps, and change given in a little dish clearly designed to elicit a tip. Overall, a mixed bag.

This place seems to have changed it's name a lot, although I think this is the current incarnation. There is usually a sign outside that says 'good looking people this way' or something like that - I have been in a few Friday evenings now and the place is always fairly quiet. I can't work out whether the sign would put people off, or the extortionate price for a pint of Becks. Wouldn't make it a regular (good looking barmaid though).
