It was ok in here when we visited on a Saturday afternoon. Fairly busy too although I thought £3.80 a pint for ale a little on the high side. The pub feels like an estate pub but is actually virtually in the town centre.
7/10

I can't remember the last time I saw this pub open. I pass it several quite often and it's always closed, even in the early evening, yet looking through the windows show that it is still a going concern. It was closed today at lunchtime.

Not many of these lovely old pubs left . Good beer selection cheery welcome and a pub. singer or other frequent events. Give them your support . You'd be sor.ry if it went

Yeah it's a decent pub bit on the pricey side but nice and friendly they don't really like a group of lads even if their not youngsters bit on the defensive side when in a group but with the wife nice little pub.

PS its defo worth more than that 3/10 rating. Its average, that's what I'd say.

It is in a bit of a time warp, like walking into a 1981 pub, but the beer was alright and I'd prefer to go in here than a Pitcher and Piano!

Perfectly fine pub. Always good selection of ales (Tribute, Trelawny,Doombar) all well kept and always a cheery welcome. Nice beergarden in Summer. Often host to parties and functions. Food at luchtimes looks ok and pub has skittle ally & pool table. Just off the main street with plenty of parking. One of Taunton's finest .

if you like all things 1970's you'll love this - dull, duller, dullest...

The "massage parlour" is further down the road towards the cricket ground.
Terrible pub with virtually nothing going for it. One might think that being close to the cricket it would be handy for a drink, but really it is a pub to avoid. I feel the site would be suitable for redevelopment into flats or offices perhaps.

A depressing miserable dive where people go to be even more depressed and miserable
|
No wonder YoYo is confused by chopin as I'm reliably informed, ahem, that said massage parlour is in Middle Street not Canon Street where this pub is. Still the pub is a dive though.
|
I keep walking by and looking for this massage parlour but don't see it.
|
Interseting to sit by the window with a beer and see if you recognise anyone going into or coming out of the "massage parlour" opposite.
